• This national infrastructure is made up of networks, systems, sites, facilities and businesses that deliver goods and services to citizens, businesses, public bodies and government.

Critical assets

• Not all components of the national infrastructure are critical elements

• Criticality does not just depend on the type of facility but also on the number of people affected or other consequences if the facility is damaged or unavailable and cannot easily be replaced.
