It was great to see the efforts last Friday of many of our long distance runners at the school cross country carnival. There were some excellent performances. What was even more pleasing was the indication from some that they had taken the time to prepare by doing some training in the weeks leading up to the event. Next Friday those who finished in the first six places in each event will match their abilities against the best runners f rom B inna wa y , Coo lah and Mendooran Schools. A continuation of the training should see some excellent results there too.

Is your child finding it difficult to juggle after school activities and complete their
weekly homework tasks? Then our new ‘Homework Headquarters’ is where your
child needs to be each Monday afternoon from 3-4pm.
The ‘Homework Headquarters’ will kick off from Monday the 16th of May and will
be accessible to all students every Monday afternoon in the school library.
If your child needs help with their homework, please send them along on Monday
afternoons where they will be supervised and assisted by two of our qualified
teaching staff. Your child will also be supplied with a small snack and a drink for
afternoon tea - to keep the brain active! It is important that your child brings
along their homework and that somebody is there to pick them up at 4pm. Unlike
previous years, there will not be a bus service to drop children home - you will
need to pick them up, or organise for them to walk home.
If you plan on sending your child or children to the ‘Homework Headquarters’,
please fill in this permission note and return it to Miss Allison Kuras.
This permission note will cover students for the remainder of the year.

Last Friday morning the sun shone beautifully for our annual cross country. All students 8
years and above attended the cross country at the golf course. Students competed with
enthusiasm and great sportsmanship and are to be commended on this and their excellent
behaviour whilst travelling to and from the golf course and whilst at the golf club.
Congratulations for your efforts everyone. A big congratulations to all place getters in each
age division.
The winning house for the cross country was the Meteorites. Well Done Meteorites.
The first 6 place getters in each age division will now compete in Coolah on Friday 20th May
2011. Good luck to the competitors pictured

Mother’s Day Raffle Results
On behalf of the P&C I would like to thank everyone who helped make the Easter Raffle a success. We made $1000 which will benefit the school and its students. Congratulations to all raffle winners as
announced in last week’s newsletter and drawn by Michelle Watton and Alison Stanton. Thank you
again for your support through selling/buying tickets and donating raffle items. The Bunny Bazaar stall
was a great success again. We raised $350 and the raffle was drawn by The Coffee Float and won by Joe
Hasson. Thank you especially to David Jackson and Mr Willoughby who gave up some or all of their
Saturday morning to help us with this fundraiser.
