TRANSCRIPT
On Sunday, November 17th, we will have a congregational meeting after worship. There will be two items on the agenda:
1. A 2020 narrative budget presentation from the Extravagant Generosity team. 2. Consideration of the Vision Task Force’s proposed mission & vision language for approval.
The covenant we agreed to in July 2017 when I was called to serve as your pastor and redeveloper acknowledges, “we all have choices to make and commitments to make in living out God’s dream for us.” Your attendance in worship that day and at this meeting is an important way of participating in the ongoing Mission Redevelopment of Christ the Servant. Every step we have taken on this journey together has been leading to the decisions and commitments we are now making. We will be voting on the Vision Task Force’s proposal of a new mission statement, vision statement, and core values that we believe will help guide our church’s mission and decision making for years to come.
PROPOSED MISSION STATEMENT: “Putting Jesus’ Way of Life into Practice by
Encountering God, Loving One Another, & Reaching the World.”
PROPOSED VISION STATEMENT: “Thriving as a Multicultural and Multigenerational Spiritual Family by
Equipping and Sending Disciples to Transform the World.”
PROPOSED CORE VALUES: Radical Hospitality– ‘We Welcome Others as Christ Welcomes Us’
Passionate Worship– ‘We Wholeheartedly Encounter God’s Presence and Power’ Intentional Faith Development – ‘We Learn to Be and Become Like Jesus’ Risk-Taking Mission & Service – ‘We Reach Out to Serve a Hurting World’
Extravagant Generosity – ‘We Go All In to Put God First’
I invite you to pray and reflect faithfully about what these words mean for you and for Christ the Servant. And please do join us for worship and our congregational meeting on November 17th as we take this important step in living out God’s dream for us.
In Christ, Pastor Chris Steubing

CARING FRIENDS MINISTRY UPCOMING VISIT Caring Friends is a ministry of friendship to
homebound members of our congregation. Visits can be simply a one-on-one chat with a special friend, a group visit, or even the sharing of a meal or birthday celebration. Their next group meeting will be Monday, November 4th, at 5:00PM for a supper & meeting at the home of Grace Blesener, The teams will be making individual visits during the week.
One of October’s visits was to Gordy & Dell Hultman. Gordy is one of our special friends. Being one of the few remaining survivors of the attack on Pearl Harbor, he loves to talk about the events of that historic day. Those who study history may enjoy talking to Gordy sometime. And Dell, while not always able to attend services, still keeps busy working on beautiful needlework.
