The site I chose is a space with opportunity. The unused parking lot, cou-pled with the overgrown lot, allowed for space to be in-filled, re-greened, and re-inhabited by local populace. Key points to the design included:1) The re-greening of the area.2) The introduction of commercial on the 1st floor with possible residential on the 2nd.3) A new plaza environment, with ample supply of seating and light for pla-za-goers.4) Possible connections to the commercial strip west of the site and other open space to the east.5) Overall atmosphere of usable area that promotes safety and is pleasant.
