PTOSIS CRUTCH

THE CRUTCH IS THE FORMED WIRE MOUNTED TO THE UPPER RIMS OF THE GLASS

Ptosis spectacles are equipped with a crutch that is positioned behind and roughly parallel to the upper eye wire.

The crutch supports the skin of the upper lid & prevents the lid from drooping closed.

Metal frames can be fitted as ptosis spectacles. (using flexible wire as a mock-up to show the basic shape, then constructed from the model).

The crutch is formed to the shape & contour of the eye, using a type of stainless steel wire.

MEASURMENTS FOR CRUTCH GLASS

#. With the glass being worn in a normal comfortable position .

#. The measurements are taken from the most inner part of the eye lid right on top Just below the skull bone , right up against top of the socket ,at the center of the top of the eye ball.

#. The inner upper wire of the eye glass frames closest to the eye .

#. Center on each eye b/w the bridge in the middle & the temple mount.

The frame should be made of metal ,not plastic if possible ,once the crutch is attached apply the outer protective coating,& give a final adjustment..Basically that is how it is done
