Here we have a 1991 Crx Si (FIG.1) seat and these instructions will guide you through the process of taking apart and

assembling this seat. First step is to remove the frame rails after doing so find a sturdy table to work on. Now remove the

plastic cover on the side, one Phillips head screw holds it in place (FIG.1). Now recline seat as far back as it can go like in

(FIG.2). Do this by pulling on lever and pushing back till position is acquired.

FIG.4 FIG.5

Having the seat reclined as in FIG.3 will give you access to the rear bolt (FIG.4) which would be covered otherwise. Now

remove these two bolts 12mm (FIG.5) and set them aside. Beware to not move lever since it will spring back and could hurt

you. Now on opposite side remove the large bolt and save the bolt and plastic washer as in FIG.5 and 6. Now you can

remove the seat bottom from the backrest section Fig.6 &7.

Place seat section on table and you can see that hog rings are retaining the seat cover to the seat pan FIG.10. All these will

have to be cut, you can use a bolt cutter or wire cutter Fig.11. Now you can remove the seat pan from the foam FIG.12. Peel

seat cover from around the edges carefully just like FIG.13. You will see hog rings still retaining seat cover to foam seat now

cut these as well. Be careful not to cut the wires that are on the foam FIG.14. Work your way from the front to the back

FIG.16, removing the hog rings until cover can be lifted. Now foam is ready to be repairedFIG.17, refer to How To Repair

Foam instructions on how to do so.

We will now move on to the backrest section, you will remove the head rest. There is a clip that is usually removed through

the backFIG.19. It is located under the plastic molding where the head rest bar goes into FIG.20. Use a flat head

screwdriver to pry it out FIG.21. There are usually two, one on each side. No just pull the headrest up and should be

removed very easily.

FIG.20 FIG.21

FIG.22 FIG.23

The headrest is now separated from the backrest and can now be disassembled. First start off by separating the cover from

the bottom. Simply just pull apart the two joining sections FIG.23 and start peeling down. Then start unzipping the zipper on

the inside of the headrest using some needle nose pliers FIG.24 & 25. Once zipper has been fully separated, it should look like

FIG.26. You can peel the headrest cover completely off the foam headrest and is now ready for repair and to install the new

cover.

The back rest can now be worked on; First step is to cut all the hog rings located on the bottom part of the backrest cover as in

FIG.29. Once all hog rings have been cut you will notice that there are two straps on both sides of the backrest bottom FIG.30.

It can either be tied straps or rubber hook straps FIG.31. You will have to remove these so you can start peeling the backrest

cover up like in FIG.32. On the way up you will have to cut hog rings that still attach cover (FIG.33) just like you did in the

bottom seat. Once again only cut the hog rings and not the steel strips.

Now that all the hog rings were removed, that attached the cover to the backrest you can peel cover all the way up FIG.34.

You will have to remove the two headrest plastic post FIG.35. You do this by inserting needle nose pliers through the back

side FIG.36 and squeezing the retaining tabs FIG.37 and pulling the post up. You can pull the cover off completely and begin

repairing the foam. Installation is reverse of this, Good luck and patience. Any questions email [email protected]
