1necklace • Cut a 4-in. (10cm) piece of bead-

ing wire. String two crystals. String both ends through a crimp bead, making a loop. Crimp the crimp bead (How-Tos) and trim the ends of the wire close to the crimp.

2 Cut a 4-in. (10cm) piece of beading wire. String

three crystals, a crimp bead, and the previous loop. Crimp as in step 1.

3 Repeat step 2, varying the size of the loops and the number of crystals, until the strand is within 2 in. (5cm)

of the desired length. (My necklaces are 17½ in./44.5cm.)

5 Spread out the strand, and attach four or five more loops as desired. Space the groupings evenly along the strand.

4 On one end, attach a small loop as in step 2, but string a lobster claw or hook clasp before crimping. Repeat on

the other end, substituting a soldered jump ring for the clasp.

6 To make the dangle, make two single loops and

a grouping as desired.

7 Make a single loop and, before crimping, string the center loops of the strand, the dangle, and the two single loops

as shown.

8 Make another single loop and, before crimping, string the dangle and the strand as shown.

1 earrings • Repeat step 1 of the necklace, but string

four crystals instead of two. Make a one-crystal loop and a three-crystal loop, linking each to the four-crystal loop.

2 Open the loop of an earring wire (How-Tos).

Attach the dangle and close the loop. Make a second earring to match the first. ✤

EDITOR’S TIPTrim the beading wire close to the crimp bead, but allow a little wire to extend so that the crimps are secure.

Add matching earrings for a lightweight wash of color.
