5. Mentor Report analysis:

(i) Firstly mentor’s are being allotted for each 15 student (ii) Every faculty member submitted weekly attendance of student who’s monitoring them to me. (iii) Instructions are being given to the faculty members that they shall call the short attendance student and sent letter to them. (iv) Mentors also sent attendance by the SMS to their parents. (v) Faculty called them , up to 3 times per student they are mentoring depending on the requirement. (VI) Due to continuous follow up and SMS’s to their parents student attendance was improved.

6. Low/High/Medium category of student treatment

(a) We have given extra time to weak student on individual basis.

CS/IT DEPARTMENT PROGRESS REPORT 2011

Page 19: Cs It Final Progress Report

19

(b) Regular counseling is being done by the entire faculty member (weak, medium,

bright).

(c) We have created group of 3rd /4th year CS & IT students on gmail and all the faculty

members are sending the soft copy of the lecture notes in that group mail so that even

if some lectures are missed by the students due to any reason then also they can cover

it up.

(d) Lesson Plan is putted on the notice board for student convenience

(e) We have included one section namely “Student section” in our Web site which

include MST exam time table, Fees notices , Assignment submission last date ,

Practical exam time table along with all the other important notices related to students

(f) Moodle software is being implemented for online submission of assignments; faculty

can give notes in online fashion etc.

(g) Technical sessions are specially planed for gate 2012 students/placement purpose.

7. Lecture taken by 4th year student(opinion)

Those 4Th year student who are interested in teaching can be given a chance to teach their

junior in our opinion reason are as follow

(a) Since the age group is less between them so junior would be able to interact in better

fashion with them and then we can take feedback from final year student about their

experience and we might gain some insight on improving our teaching skill.

CS/IT DEPARTMENT PROGRESS REPORT 2011

Page 20: Cs It Final Progress Report

20

(b) It will be good experience for 4th year student also and it will help them in future.

1Decentralized Car Traffic

Control System

This work aims at designing a car traffic control simulation realized in a decentralized way by message propagations: congested nodes (roads

intersections) send speed-up or slow-down messages to neighboring nodes.

2Domain Specific Search

EnginesAllows portals to be created quickly, and with minimal effort, and

are suited for reuse across several domains.

Future planning

(a) For online submission of assign and other departmental work like lecture notes etc. we have implemented moodle (sia-moodle.co.cc) in our CS/IT department which we are now planning to implement for whole college.

(b) We require 75 students to open CSI chapter in our college and we are able to collect amount of 45 students and we are pursuing remaining 30 students to pay the amount so that we can open CSI chapter in near future.

(c) We are trying to implement research projects from our student under guidance of our faculties in coming semester and get funds for the same from department of science and technology.

(d) We have also applied for AICTE grant for staff development program (SDP) in which if we get then we can conduct this program July 2012.

(e) Some faculties are collecting information about local CS/IT companies and we are trying our

(f) IIT Bombay had developed Ekalavya program, this program has been launched on 26 dec 2004. We will apply for remote center so that they can provide fund for research and development activity at remote center.

(g) We are developing intranet website so our student can download study material in

online fashion.
