GeneralThe IOFPCL was founded in 2004 and is now the largest
cooperative undertaking organic farming in India. Each of its
approximately 2‚500 members has one vote, regardless of
the number of shares held. The organisation is guided by
the needs of its farmers; it supports these wherever possible
and is committed to upholding and continually improving
quality. The IOFPCL encourages its farmers to accept
this challenge and supports them in the production and
marketing of their organic and Fair-Trade certifi ed products.
Direct support from Chocolat Stella BernrainChocolat Stella Bernrain has worked with the IOFPCL since
2009 and supports the organisation in maintaining its Fair
Trade certifi cation but also with regular on-site quality
training for farmers, plus Switzerland-based training for the
organisation’s members.
