CEDA 's Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) program is offering Water Bill Assistance to residents with low incomes who are delinquent with their water bill. Qualif ying applicants can receive up to $400.00 towards their delinquent bill by demonstrating their ability to make four consecutive payments on the account first. The long-term goal is to build good budgeting and bill-paying habits. Payment is made directly to water supplier (municipal water department) and CEDA will need yo ur help. When a delinquent water custom er e nrolls for CEDA assistance, they will need to make four consecutive, timely payments on their water bi ll (weekly, bi- weekly, or monthly) bef ore CEDA's one-time payme nt. A payment plan must exist for any remaining balance. We would appreciate if you could share this va lu able resource to community members. The encl osed fl yers conta in the eligibility guide li nes. The mission of CEDA is to work in partnership with commun ities to empowe r families and individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their quality of lif e. CEDA offers an array of services through its CSBG program. Services are linked to short-term case management where l ow income Suburban Cook County residents receive services and support to help them attain ski ll s, kn ow ledge and re so urces necessary to ac hi eve self-sufficiency. The program may also provide direct financial assistance to help remove barriers to self-sufficiency. Eligible individuals and families may qualify for the CEDA CSBG* Water Bill Assistance Program that provides financial assistance to avoid disconnection on delinquent water bills.

Eligibility Guidelines: ▪ Must live in suburban Cook County ▪ Complete an intake application to confirm income eligibility. ▪ Proof of hardship and client payment towards the bill are required.
