CommandSecurityCorporationoriginallycommencedoperationsasR.J.Thompson,Inc.in1980asaPoughkeepsie,NewYork-basedcorporationprincipallyengagedinfurnishinguniformedguardandinvestigativeservicesunderthedirectionofitsfoundersandstockholders.

In1980,thestockholdersacquired50%oftheoutstandingstockofR.J.Thompson,Inc.andin1983,acquiredtheremaining50%.Duringthesameyear,thestockholdersalsoacquiredCommandSecurity,aConnecticutCorporationengagedinuniformedsecurityandinvestigativeservices.

In1983,CommanddiscontinuedusingtheR.J.Thompson,Inc.nameforitsNewYorkbusinessandbeganoperatingasCommandSecurity.In1986,theoriginalConnecticutCorporationwasdissolvedandalloperationswereconsolidatedundertheNewYorkCorporation,nowformallyCommandSecurityCorporation.

Since1982,CommandSecurityCorporation expanded its business through internal sales efforts andby targetedacquisitions.Asthecompanygrew,newofficeswereestablishedinsignificant,targetedgeographiclocales.
