COldClIMaTESIncoldclimateswherecondensationinthewallcavityispossible,avapourbarrierisalsorecommendedbetweentheinternalliningsandtheframing.

Cemintel™TextureBaseSheetsarenotdesignedtobeincontactwithsnoworicebuild-upforextendedperiods,suchasisexperiencedinalpineareassubjecttosnowdrifts.

insulaTionIt isrecommendedthatinsulationmaterialsbeinstalledforenergyconservationandoccupantcomfort.Insulationalsoimprovestheacousticperformanceofthewallagainstoutsidenoise.

ThelevelofinsulationprovidedinawallisdescribedbyitstotalR-value.ThehighertheR-valuethegreatertheinsulationprovided.

R-values for somesystemshavebeencalculated inaccordancewiththemethodsoftheBCAandaregiveninTable2.

EnergyefficiencyrequirementsforbuildingsaresetoutintheBCAasperformancerequirementsandacceptableconstructionpractices,andaredependantongeographicalclimatezones.Tomeettherequirements,itisrecommendedthatCSRBradfordinsulationbeinstalledinthewallframing.Checkwithlocalbuildingauthoritiesforminimuminsulationrequirements.

Whenfixingtosteelframing,athermalbreakisrequiredbetweentheTextureBaseSheetingandtheframetomeetthedeemedtosatisfyrequirementsoftheBCA.Thethermalbreakisusedtoensurethatthethermalperformanceofthewalliscomparabletothatofatimberframedwall.

Cemintel™TextureCoatshouldbetouchdryinonehourat25ºCand50%relativehumidity.It isshouldbefullydryandabletobepaintedafter72hours,althoughlowertemperatureorhigherhumiditywillincreasethedryingtime.

Vibrationssuchasnailfixingtheinternalliningsshouldbeavoideduntilthetexturecoatisdry.Thisistoreducethelikelihoodofthesheetfastenersprotrudingandthecoatingbeingdamaged.
