Question 5: Structures Marks (5) The pictures on the right show two famous structures in Paris, France. On the left is the Arch of Triumph built by Napoleon, and on the right is the Eiffel Tower, built by Gustaff Eiffel.

Both structures use the arch to provide strength and stability. Arches are found in buildings, furniture, dam walls, etc.

Here are photographs of ARCHED BRIDGES spanning across river valleys in the Southern Cape Province.

Question 6 : Electricity Marks (7)

Your grandmother has moved into the accommodation adapted for her by your father. She is very happy because she can easily move about the flat let using her wheelchair. However, as she is getting very old, she sometimes needs to call for help when she can’t do something for herself, or if she feels ill. Your father decides to install an electric bell so she can attract attention when she needs assistance. She asks your father to install two emergency switches (panic buttons) so she can press the closest switch in an emergency. Your father can't think how to do this, so he asks you to design the circuit because he knows you should have done this in Technology.

6.1 Draw the circuit diagram with the following components:

7.1 Perspective drawings can be done in either single or double vanishing point styles.
