2. What was that?
TheCuban Missile Crisiswas a confrontation between theSoviet Union,Cubaand theUnited Statesin October 1962, during theCold War. In September 1962, the Cuban and Soviet governments began to surreptitiously build bases in Cuba for a number of medium- and intermediate-rangeballisticnuclear missiles (MRBMs and IRBMs) with the ability to strike most of the continental United States. This action followed the 1958 deployment ofThor IRBMsin the UK andJupiter IRBMstoItaly and Turkey in 1961 more than 100 U.S.-built missiles having the capability to strike Moscow with nuclear warheads.
3. Causes
Fidel Castro and his hate for American expansion.
The failed invasion of the Bay of Pigs.
NikitaKhrushchevbecause he wanted a communist country nearUnitedStates and also he wantedto test new president Kennedy.
4. Consecuences
The two sides established a direct communications link that became known as the Hot Line.
A Test Ban Treaty was signed between the two countries in August 1963.
The Soviet Union became determined to have a nuclear capability that was equal to the United States. This was achieved by 1972.
The split between theSoviet UnionandChinabecame wider.

US Military forces go to DEFCON 2October 25: JFK sends a letter to Khrushchev placing the responsibility for the crisis on the Soviet Union

October 26: Khrushchev sends a letter to President Kennedy proposing to remove his missiles if Kennedy publicly announces never to invade CubaOctober 27: An American U-2 is shot down over Cuba killing the pilot, Major Rudolf AndersonOctober 27: A U-2 strays into Soviet airspace, near Alaska, and is nearly intercepted by Soviet fightersOctober 27: Kennedy sends Khrushchev a letter stating that he will make a statement that the U.S. will not invade Cuba if Khrushchev removes the missiles from CubaOctober 28: Khrushchev announces over Radio Moscow that he has agreed to remove the missiles from Cuban return the US agrees to the withdrawal of US nuclear missiles from Turkey ending the Cuban Missile Crisis

14. Conclusions
We can conclude that this was a very difficult moment of the cold war with a lot of tension from the both sides. Also this was useful in order to spread China and the soviets because of the both of them combined could be fatal. It also showed the world that the possibility of a nuclear war, was closer than ever.
