2. What was that?
TheCuban Missile Crisiswas a confrontation between theSoviet Union,Cubaand theUnited Statesin October 1962, during theCold War. In September 1962, the Cuban and Soviet governments began to surreptitiously build bases in Cuba for a number of medium- and intermediate-rangeballisticnuclear missiles (MRBMs and IRBMs) with the ability to strike most of the continental United States. This action followed the 1958 deployment ofThor IRBMsin the UK andJupiter IRBMstoItaly and Turkey in 1961 more than 100 U.S.-built missiles having the capability to strike Moscow with nuclear warheads.

4. Consecuences
The two sides established a direct communications link that became known as the Hot Line.
A Test Ban Treaty was signed between the two countries in August 1963.
The Soviet Union became determined to have a nuclear capability that was equal to the United States. This was achieved by 1972.
The split between theSoviet UnionandChinabecame wider.

14. Conclusions
We can conclude that this was a very difficult moment of the cold war with a lot of tension from the both sides. Also this was useful in order to spread China and the soviets because of the both of them combined could be fatal. It also showed the world that the possibility of a nuclear war, was closer than ever.
