Nomination Process for future Chairperson of the Council To: Advisory Council Members From: Gerald Toland, Jr., PhD Chair, Agriculture, Culinology® and Hospitality Management Department The following timeline is proposed to assist in an orderly leadership transition for selection of the next Chair of SMSU’s Culinology® and Hospitality Management Advisory Council:
• Between March 24, 2017 (today) and Friday, April 21, 2017: Call for Chair Nominations. The nominations can be either a council member’s self-nomination or a nomination from another council member.
o Please use e-mail to submit nominations to Dr. Joyce Hwang at: [email protected]
• April 24, 2017: Notification of Chair Nominees. Nominees for Council Chair will be notified about their nominations by SMSU on Monday, April 24, 2017.
• May 8, 2017: Send-out Ballots to Council Members with Voting Rights. The SMSU
Dean’s Office will prepare and send-out ballots with the names of chair nominees.
• May 12, 2017: Deadline to Vote and Submit Ballot. Please submit a completed ballot to SMSU Departmental Administrative Assistant, Linda Baun, at [email protected]
• May 15, 2017: Announce New Council Chairperson. SMSU will email all council members with the announcement of the new council chair, based on a majority vote of the council.
