The pieces are standing because part of
them are buried.
“Rocket ship”- “It just is!” “Crazy the wind
hasn’t knocked it down.”
He just comes up with ideas.
He has been making these pieces for
awhile now. They take awhile to make and
he does them mostly on his own,
sometimes with help from friends.

They are all made from car parts, (boats),
and metal. Most of which he got from the
junk yard.
He has made the ones that are in the
pictures plus others that have rusted too
much to keep over the years. “Things have
come and gone”
He might make new pieces in the future, but
at the moment wasn’t sure. “Possibly in the
fall”

Context
The Rocket Ship which has “USA 2000” written on it was created for the new Millennium.
On New Years Eve the family brought a TV outside and watched the millennium turn while the Rocket was lit.
The artist placed 49 Flame Throwers into parts of the rocket to make it appear as if it was ready for lift off.
