    1. Ease in Selling of Produce

    Will amend the Agricultural Produce Market Committee

    (APMC) Act to enable farmers to sell produce directlyto

    the Delhi market.

    Will remove the mandatory requirement of buying

    through local communities.

    This will encourage more players and greater competition

    and prices will automatically come down.

    2. Food Prices Commission

    Will set up an independent Food Prices Commission to constantly

    monitor and study rise in food price

    Suggest appropriate strategies to deal with price rise in a timely

    manner.

    The Commission to be an independent advisory body comprised of

    experts.

    3. Price Force for Checking Hoarders

    A Special Price Force to be constituted.

    It will comprise of retired government officials including armed forcespersonnelto monitor the markets and look out for hoarders.

    4. Storage Reforms and Improvements

    To protect against seasonal increase, Delhi needs adequate storage

    capacity.

    Establishment of cold storages and state-of-the-art storage facilities to

    encourage storage.

    All new cold storages to be exempted from sales tax for 5 years.

    Use of innovation and technology in improving the supply chain.

    To plug leakages in PDS use of technology-Smart cards, hi-techmonitoring, online display of stocks.

    Movements of all food transporting trucks headed for Delhi and within

    Delhi will be monitored by GPS tracking.

    Food inspectors to file report on daily basis from mandis and retail

    markets.

    Ensure that the poor can get affordable nutrition and proteins.

    The government will provide 2 kg of daal every month at Rs 5/kg toevery poor family in Delhi.
