Every Monday, your child will bring home a list of words that follow a spelling
pattern. This pattern is something we will work on throughout the week in class.
They will need to review these words at home as well.
On Friday, they will have a review they will complete in regards to the spelling
pattern of the week. There will be 3 sections of the review. First, they will
have to look at a row of words and decide which word is spelled correctly and
circle the word. In the second section, they will have to read a sentence and
look for the mistakes. They will have to correct the mistakes and rewrite the
sentence. In the third section, they will have to choose 1 of the pattern words
and write a sentence of their own. We will only be grading capitalization of the
sentence, spelling of the pattern words and punctuation.
