Glue the pieces to the contrasting colored paper as seen above.

v Material required : Paper ,Paints ,Paint Brushes Instructions : Take a print out of an image or draw your own shapes on a piece of paper. Fold a piece of paper in half making sure that half of the drawing is on one side and the other half on the other. Open the paper and point attention to the

line running down the middle. This line divides the picture into two equal halves and it’s called the line of symmetry. Apply paint on one side of the picture. Fold the page and press it down.Start opening… Go slow. It’s all very exciting! Now you can you see a complete picture. Some of the colors that were applied first had a chance to dry up a bit and didn’t transfer well. So, paint your picture fast and use paints very generously. Alternatively, you can skip the pictures and simply fold the paper in half and open it, ask the kids to apply paints randomly on a page, fold, press it down and open the page. Children can observe how paints spread to create a pattern that is similar on both halves of the page.

Grandparents’ Forum

Grandparents are a family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of traditions. They are the family’s strong foundation. Through their special love and care, they keep a family close at heart.

On 27th of November, we welcomed Mrs. Manjulata, grandmother of Bhavya Dugar, P 5-B. Since she has been a lecturer of Hindi, it was very easy for her to connect with the children. She spoke to them mainly about the importance of Hindi language and the need to speak and write in its pure form. She also talked about why the children need to concentrate more to perform better in studies and in life.

The session was very interactive where the students engaged Mrs. Manjulata with never-ending questions. Then, she also discussed with the children, how she spends time with her grandson, Bhavya. It was an enriching experience for the teachers as well as the students.

Excursion to Lodhi Gardens

Page 10: CURRICULUM INPUTS FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY, … · AND MARCH –P5 ENGLISH CONJUNCTIONS: • Understands that a conjunction is the glue that holds words, phrases and clauses together

The weather and mood all pleaded for an outing in the sun which was happily heeded when the students of class P5 went on an exploration of sorts to Lodhi Gardens along with their teachers on 26th December 2017. As the children stepped out of their buses on the sunny but chilly afternoon they witnessed the beauty of mother nature with stretches of lush green grass acting like green carpets and colourful birds. They enjoyed their day with a lot of free play, sports activities, board games etc . It was a fun-filled day -children shared snacks with their friends and relished the flavor of each other’s food. Children were taken around Gol Gumbad, Gol Gumbad Mosque, and the Bada Gumbad at the gardens. The children were told about the intricacies of design and the beauty of the monuments built during the Lodhi Dynasty somewhere around 1494 .Overall, a rewarding experience packed with both learning and entertainment for our young learners.
