Experiences
• Dialysis: Supervising 208 dialysis sessions every day for the last 27
years, with vast experience in different modalities of dialysis
(hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, plasmapheresis, hemodiafiltration) for both acute emergency and chronic cases.
• Extensive experience in medical care of around 1200 renal
transplants especially in preparation of recipients, donor selection,
perioperative management of the recipients including graft
perfusion, out-patient follow up of the transplant recipients, and
management of, emergency, acute and chronic complications following renal transplantation.
• Surgical Skills: excellent experience in creating vascular access
(Fistula or shunt), insertion of peritoneal dialysis catheter for chronic
ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, management of emergency situations
of vascular access.
• Other Nephrological Care: management of nephrotic and nephritic
patients pediatrics or adults, obstetric cases with renal insult in pre
or postnatal periods, acute renal failure cases, renal hypertension, and acute intoxication.
• Out Patient Activity: attending daily outpatient clinic for about 22
years with 15-20 new cases per clinic. Follow up for transplant recipients (preparation or post transplant) for 90 cases per week.
• Training of junior staff: organizing of weekly journal club in
Nephrology, giving lectures that cover the important subjects in
nephrology, preparing clinical rounds to discuss problematic and
interesting cases, training courses for post-doctoral master and
doctorate degrees, and ministry of health doctors, and supervision of visiting doctors (national, regional and international)
• Other Activities :performing renal biopsy either for native or
transplanted kidneys, prolonged experience to carry out liver and
skin biopsies, dealing with emergency cases, excellent experience in
creating vascular access (fistula or shunt), insertion of peritoneal
dialysis catheter for chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis,
management of emergency situations of vascular access.
