Mensa je de l Equ ipo D irect ivo El tiempo, los hechos y las circunstancias actuales están demostrando, de manera cada vez más palpable, que el mejor legado que podemos dejar a nuestros hijos no es otro que una educación completa y de calidad. Los países más sólidos, estables y solventes en el tablero geopolítico actual, junto con aquellos que han venido a llamarse emergentes, lo han sido precisamente gracias a una apuesta firme por la formación de sus jóvenes, aquella que hace mejor a cada generación respecto a la anterior. Si hay algún hecho claro es que esta realidad nunca se debió a la generación espontánea ni al albedrío. Detrás había un trabajo, una planificación.

Una institución como el Colegio Alborán no puede depender de la coyuntura del momento, ni de los vaivenes socio-económicos, ni de ningún factor externo que pueda afectar negativamente a su oferta educativa. Estamos obligados a ser competitivos, entendiendo por este término la necesidad de llevar a cabo una formación integral que nos diferencie de los demás, y esta no es otra que aquella que sabe hace mejor a nuestro alumnado.

Los veintiocho años de experiencia docente del Colegio Alborán, junto con los resultados contrastados en el mundo universitario y laboral por parte de tantas generaciones de antiguos alumnos, no constituyen un producto de marketing ni obedecen a campaña alguna, tampoco forman parte de un escaparate virtual, sino que son hechos irrefutables. La relevancia internacional alcanzada por parte de muchos de ellos/as, además de llenarnos de orgullo y satisfacción, nos refuerza en la convicción de que vamos por el camino correcto.

Pero los tiempos cambian, y un centro concebido para alcanzar la excelencia no puede detenerse a mirar atrás y recrearse con ese reconocido prestigio, sino que debe permanecer atentos a las propuestas más innovadoras. Cometido este que nos llevó en numerosas ocasiones a visitar colegios por toda la geografía nacional con la intención de aceptar o desestimar diversas iniciativas en función a valoraciones objetivas. Como consecuencia de este análisis riguroso surge la oferta que complementa la educación reglada y que conforma nuestro Proyecto de Centro: Jolly Phonics, UCMAS, Microsoft, Cambridge...

Esta particular mezcla de tradición e innovación transcurre en un entorno natural inigualable que cuidamos y disfrutamos, y que encuentra su catalizador en el cálido componente afectivo y emocional que caracteriza las relaciones personales entre todos los miembros que formamos la gran familia del Colegio Alborán, un centro que vela por la felicidad y la realización personal de todos y cada uno de sus componentes, de vuestros hijos. Sin ninguna duda lo más importante que tenéis, que tenemos.

Message from Schoo l Manage ment At the present time, as facts and circumstances are proving, as never before, the best legacy we can leave to our children is no other than a quality comprehensive education. The most solid, stable and solvent countries in the current geopolitical situation, along with those who have come to be called the emergent countries, have become precisely so because of a strong emphasis on the training of its young people. Each generation does better comparing with the previous one. If there is a clear fact it is that this reality was never due to the chance or free will. Behind this, there was work, and a schedule.

An institution like the Alborán College can not depend on the present situation or the socio-economic fluctuations, or any external factor which could negatively affect its educational offer. We are required to be competitive, meaning the obligation to conduct an integral education that distinguishes us from others, and this is no other than that which gives more to our students.

The twenty-eight years of teaching experience at Alborán School, together with corepetitive results in the university and job market by many generations of former students. These are not a marketing ploy or obey any campaign, neither are part of a clever presentation but are irrefutable facts. The international success achieved by many students, beside filling us with pride and satisfaction, reinforce our conviction that we are on the right way.

But times are changing, and a centre designed to achieve excellence can not stop to look back and recreate a prestigious past but must remain aware of the most innovative proposals. Such a task, which took us on many occasions to visit schools throughout Spain with the intention of accepting or rejecting various iniciatives according to objective evaluations. As a result of this rigorous analysis arises the offer that complements formal education and supports our Project Center: Jolly Phonics, UCMAS, Microsoft, Cambridge...

This particular combination of tradition and innovation takes place in a unique natural environment that we support and enjoy. This finds its catalyst in the warm affective and emotional component that characterizes the relationships between all the members who form the great family of Alborán school. Proyecto Bil ingüeSiguiendo la Orden del 13 de marzo de 2012, por la que se concede la autorización administrativa de enseñanza bilingüe español/inglés al Centro Docente Privado Alborán para las etapas educativas de Educación Infantil y Educación Primaria, en este curso 2014/15 que ahora comienza continuaremos con la implantación de la enseñanza bilingüe en 3º de Educación Primaria, ampliándose así al 2º Ciclo de Educación Primaria de nuestro colegio.

El compromiso que hemos adquirido es reforzar y ampliar determinados aspectos de la vida educativa lingüística del centro, del currículo y del entorno escolar, con la potenciación de la enseñanza en lengua inglesa en Educación Infantil y en las áreas de Conocimiento del Medio, Educación Artística y Educación Física en Primaria.

Nuestro programa se asienta sobre tres pilares fundamentales:

• Incremento cualitativo y cuantitativo de la enseñanza de la lengua inglesa.• Formación específica del profesorado.• Realización de una evaluación externa del alumnado y los demás miembros de la comunidad educativa del centro a través de las pruebas de Cambridge ESOL.

El calendario de implantación del Bilingüismo sería el siguiente:

• Curso 2014/15: Educ. Infantil y 1º, 2º, 3º de Educ. Primaria.• Curso 2015/16: Educ. Infantil y 1º, 2º, 3º, 4º de Educ. Primaria.• Curso 2016/17: Educ. Infantil y 1º, 2º ,3º, 4º y 5º de Educ. Primaria.

De esta forma, en el curso 2017/18 el Proyecto afectará a la totalidad del alumnado de Educación Infantil y Primaria matriculado en el Centro en lo que corresponde a la segunda lengua.

Continuando con esta secuencia lógica el proyecto bilingüe alcanzaría el primer ciclo de Educación Secundaria en el curso correspondiente al año académico 2018/19. Adelantándonos a este dato oficial el colegio Alborán en la actualidad ya está trabajando las áreas de Ciencias sociales

y Ciencias Naturales simultáneamente en Lengua inglesa y Lengua castellana, gracias a la coordinación entre dichos departamentos y el departamento de Inglés. Del mismo modo ya se están trabajando en talleres de Drama en inglés en la hora de libre disposición.

Todo nuestro alumnado desde 2º de E.P hasta 2º de Bachillerato tienen la posibilidad de presentarse a los distintos niveles de las pruebas de la Universidad de Cambridge, con el claro objetivo de acreditar un nivel B2 (FCE) o C1 (Advanced) al finalizar sus estudios en nuestro centro.

Bi l ingua l Pro jectFollowing the Order of 13th March, 2012, in which it is established the administrative approval of bilingual education Spanish / English to the Private Centre Alborán for educational stages Preschool Education and Primary Education, this year 2014/15 we will continue with the implementation of bilingual education in 3rd Primary Education, so we increase to the second cycle of Primary Education in our Centre.

We have taken on a commitment to strengthen and expand certain aspects of linguistic educational life of the Centre, the curriculum and the school environment with the promotion of teaching in English in Preschool Education and in the areas of Science, Art Education and Physical Education.

Our program has three basic pillars:

• Increase quality and quantity of the teaching of the English language.• Specific training of teachers.• An external evaluation of students and other members of the educational community Centre through the Cambridge English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) tests.

The bilingual timetable will be: • Course 2014/15: Preschool Education and 1st, 2nd, 3rd of Primary Education • Course 2015/16: Preschool Education and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th of Primary Education • Course 2016/17: Preschool Education and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th of Primary Education.

Thus, during 2017/18 the project will affect the entire student body enrolled in Preschool and Primary Education at the Centre

Following this logical sequence, the bilingual project will reach the first cycle of Secondary Education in the course 2018/19. Our school is teaching the areas of Social Sciences and Natural Sciences in the English language and Spanish in advance, thanks to the coordination between the departments of English and Spanish in Primary and Secondary Education. Likewise, they are already working on English Drama workshops in unschedule time.

All our students from 2nd Primary Education to 2nd Bachillerato have the opportunity to take the different levels of exams of the University of Cambridge, with the clear objective to demonstrate a level B2 (First Certificate in English) or C1 (Certificate in Advanced English ) before completing their studies at our Centre.

Jol ly PhonicsEducación Infantil y 1er Ciclo PrimariaNuestro colegio lleva a cabo un método de lectura y escritura en Lengua Inglesa para niños en educación infantil, cuya implantación continuará de manera natural en el primer ciclo de primaria , como parte del proyecto bilingüe que utiliza los sonidos de una forma multi-sensorial, divertido y ciertamente atractivo para leer y escribir usando los sonidos de las letras.

El método de Jolly Phonics es un programa diseñado para enseñar a niños a leer y escribir. Los niños aprenden los 42 sonidos de las letras de la lengua inglesa, más que el alfabeto. Después pasan por las etapas de las palabras combinadas y segmentadas para desarrollar las destrezas de la lectura y la escritura.

Los personajes de los Jolly Phonics, Inky Mouse, Snake y Bee son usados por medio de materiales. A menudo reflejan las diferentes velocidades en la que los niños aprenden a leer y escribir. Inky Mouse enseña los sonidos y las técnicas de lectura. Snake mejora las destrezas de lectoescritura rápidamente, mientras Bee tiene más dificultad, pero finalmente entiende.

Jol ly PhonicsPreschool and First Cycle of Primary EducationOur school is carrying out a new method of reading and writing in English language for children in preschool (aged 4–6), whose implementation will continue naturally in the first cycle of primary. This is part of the Bilingual Project that uses the “synthetic phonics” in a multisensory way, funny and certainly attractive to read and write using the letter sounds. The method of Jolly Phonics is a program designed to teach children to read and write. Children learn the 42 letter sounds of the English language, rather than the alphabet. They are then taken through the stages of blending and segmenting words to develop reading and writing skills.

The Jolly Phonics program is being implemented into the early classrooms to learn the letter sounds .The Jolly Phonics characters Inky Mouse, Snake and Bee are used throughout the materials. They often reflect the different speeds at which children learn to read and write. Inky Mouse teaches Snake and Bee the letter sounds and reading techniques. Snake picks up the literacy skills quickly, while Bee finds it more difficult, but eventually understands.

Certificación TIC y MicrosoftEste curso 2014-2015 seguimos siendo miembros del Programa Microsoft IT Academy, lo que nos permite llevar a cabo los exámenes de certificación oficial MOS de Microsoft a los alumnos que así lo deseen. La certificación MOS de Microsoft reconoce mundialmente las avanzadas capacidades del titular en el uso de la suite ofimática por excelencia, Microsoft Office, formada por las aplicaciones Word, Excel y Powerpoint, por citar las más utilizadas.

Integrado en el currículo de diferentes asignaturas de 4º de ESO, 1º y 2º de Bachillerato, los alumnos adquirirán los fundamentos que les permitirán superar los exámenes de certificación.

TIC y Microsoft CertificationThis school year 2014-2015 we will remain members of the Microsoft IT Academy Program, which allows us to carry out the official certification exams Microsoft MOS to those students who wish to sit it

Microsoft MOS certification recognize the worldwide advanced capabilities of the owner in the use of the ultimate office suite, Microsoft Office, this consists of the applications of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, just to mention the most commonly used.

It is integrated into the curriculum of different subjects in 4th ESO, 1st and 2nd year of Bachillerato, students will acquire the basics that will allow them to overcome the certification exams.

Pro yecto UCMASTras la grata experiencia del curso anterior, continuaremos desarrollando el programa de UCMAS. Este proyecto es, junto con la progresiva implantación del bilingüismo, nuestra principal apuesta para los próximos años. Queremos que nuestros alumnos tengan la posibilidad de desarrollar todo su potencial intelectual.

Haciendo uso del Ábaco, los alumnos mejorarán el pensamiento creativo, la concentración, la atención, la capacidad de abstracción y el cálculo. El programa tiene una repercusión rápida y espectacular en el área de las matemáticas, pero no es solo un programa destinado a ejercitar el cálculo, sino de desarrollo de las capacidades intelectuales del niño/a.

Con esta actividad nuestros alumnos desarrollan la capacidad de concentración, la atención y la creatividad, factores que atajan desde la raíz los principales problemas con los que nos encontramos hoy en día en el aula.

En nuestro afán por mantener el pulso y permanecer atentos a las innovaciones en materia educativa, el Colegio Alborán se presenta como centro pionero en la provincia de Málaga a la hora de ofertar este método basado en unos procedimientos en los que se emplean unos recursos didácticos particulares, innovadores y de gran eficacia enfocados a mejorar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Es un programa integrado en el currículo y enfocado a niños/as de edades comprendidas entre los 6 y los 13 años, intervalo en el que está demostrado que el desarrollo intelectual del alumnado se encuentra en su máximo potencial. La secuencia de implantación en este tercer año se aplicará a los cursos comprendidos entre 1º de Educación Primaria y 1º de ESO.

Estamos convencidos de que con su apoyo y complicidad el proyecto llegará a buen puerto, entendiendo que no existe otra meta más ambiciosa que la mejora en el desarrollo integral de sus hijos.

UCMAS Pro jectAfter the good experience of the previous year we will continue developing the program UCMAS (Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System). This project is, together with the gradual introduction of bilingualism, our main challenge for the coming years. We want our students to have the opportunity to develop their full intellectual potential.

Making use of the Abacus, students will improve the creative thinking, the concentration, the attention, the capacity for abstraction and calculation. The program has a rapid and an outstanding impact in the area of mathematics, but it is not just an exercise program for calculation, but the intellectual development of the child.

With this activity, our students develop the ability to concentrate, stimulates creativity; factors that deal with the root of the main problems that we find today in the classroom.

In our effort to keep the pulse and to remain ready for innovation in education, Alborán school is presented as a pioneering Centre in the province of Malaga. This method based on procedures that used resources in a particular way is innovative and highly effective in focussing on improving the teaching-learning process.

It is an integrated program in curriculum and focused on children for ages 5 to 13, in which it is demonstrated that the intellectual development of students is at its maximum potential. The sequence of implementation in this third year will be applied from 1st of Primary to 1st Secondary Education.

We believe that with your support and help the project will reach a satisfactory conclusion, understanding that there is no more ambitious goal than the improvement in the overall development of your children.

N o r m a s S c h o o l R u l e s

Norma sEn todo momento se exigirá al alumnado la debida compostura y el cumplimiento estricto de las normas de régimen interno del Centro. No se autoriza al alumnado la tenencia y el uso de teléfonos móviles y/o dispositivos electrónicos de ocio en las dependencias del Colegio. En caso de infringirse esta norma, el teléfono o dispositivo electrónico será retirado y entregado personalmente a los padres y/o tutores legales. Si necesitan ponerse en contacto con su hijo/a, les rogamos lo hagan a través de la Secretaría del Centro.

Asimismo, les recordamos que para que el Centro permita cualquier modificación en la hora de salida, número de rutas, parada y uniformidad, será obligatoria la presentación previa por escrito de la solicitud a el/la Tutor/a. No se permitirá, salvo en casos excepcionales, la salida del Centro con autorización telefónica. La aceptación, por parte del Centro, de la modificación de las rutas y/o paradas estará sujeta a su disponibilidad.

El hecho de estar matriculado oficialmente en el Centro implica la aceptación explícita de las normas de disciplina, establecidas para alcanzar una convivencia sana que posibilite el desarrollo de una educación de calidad. Y en este sentido solicitamos encarecidamente su colaboración.

Schoo l Ru lesIt will be required of the students proper conduct and strict compliance with the internal rules of the Centre at all times.

Students are not authorized the possession and use of mobile phones and/or electronic devices on school premises. If this rule is infringed, the phone or electronic device will be removed and delivered personally to the parents and/or legal guardians. If you need to contact your son/daughter, please do so through the secretary of the Centre.

We also remind you that the Centre will not allow any change in the departure time, number of routes, stops and uniform. It will be compulsory to present a written request to the tutor, except in exceptional cases, it will be permitted with a telephone authorization. The acceptance by the Centre, the modification of routes and/or stops will be subject to availability.

Being officially enrolled in the Centre implies the explicit acceptance of the rules of discipline, established to achieve a harmonious atmosphere to enable the development of quality education. And in this sense we would really appreciate your cooperation.

Uniforme Esco larTodos los alumnos del colegio deberán venir correctamente uniformados, con la excepción de 2º de Bachillerato, que están exentos de usar el uniforme. Le sugerimos que escriban claramente el nombre de su hijo en las etiquetas de las prendas. No podemos hacernos responsables de aquellas que no estén marcadas.

Los alumnos de Infantil pueden llevar el uniforme de Educación física durante los meses de septiembre y junio.

Las prendas del uniforme están disponibles en la tienda del colegio que está situada dentro del recinto del centro, excepto el nuevo uniforme deportivo que retoma el color verde que nos ha identificado desde siempre. Este nuevo uniforme solo podrá ser adquirido en el centro comercial Costa Marbella - Corte Inglés de Puerto Banús. (Se podrá seguir usando y adquiriendo la indumentaria deportiva anterior hasta final de existencia).

Offic ia l Un iformAll students at school must come properly dressed, except for 2ºBachillerato, who are exempt from wearing the uniform. We really do suggest that you write clearly with markers or name tapes your child´s name on the clothing labels. We cannot take responsibility for unmarked uniform or equipment. Children in Preschool can wear P.E. Uniform during the months of September and June.

The uniform items are available at the school shop that is located in the Centre’s facilities, except the new green sports uniform which has always identified us . This new uniform may only be acquired in Costa Marbella shopping center - Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus. (you can still use the old red stock until it runs out).

Les comunicamos que todo tipo de información, notas, mensajes o modificaciones, que tengan que transmitir por medio de la Secretaría del Centro a sus hijos/as durante la jornada escolar, sean realizados antes de las 15:15 horas. Posteriormente a esa hora solo se transmitirán los más urgentes. Les rogamos, por el beneficio de todos, no nos soliciten ningún cambio a última hora, con el fin de evitar malos entendidos o errores a la hora de salida del Centro.

Por último, nos gustaría pedirles la máxima puntualidad posible, tanto a la hora de salida como de entrada del Centro. Deben evitar recoger a los alumnos/as antes de la hora de salida y, en caso de que esto sea necesario, deberá comunicarse a Secretaría igualmente antes de las 13:00 horas.

All information, notes, messages or modifications have to pass through the secretary’s office for your children during the school day. They need to be made before 15:15. Later, only the most important messages will be transmitted.

We ask you, for the benefit of all, not to request any change at the last minute in order to avoid misunderstandings or errors at the departure time.

Finally, we would like to ask you the maximum possible punctuality when both outbound and inbound the Centre, you should avoid picking up students before the departure time, and if this is necessary, you must communicate to Secretary just before 13:00 hours.

Recorridos, Paradas y Horarios de las RutasLos horarios y paradas reflejadas en este anexo son provisionales y están sujetas a posibles modificaciones. Estas, en caso de producirse, les serán comunicadas durante el mes de septiembre.

Los autobuses tienen prevista una hora de llegada para cada parada, no pudiendo esperar a los alumnos que lleguen con retraso, tanto por las dificultades que entraña para el tráfico como por la pérdida de tiempo.

Tanto el alumno/a, como sus padres o responsables, están obligados a esperar el autobús (tanto en el viaje de ida al Colegio como en el regreso de este). El autobús no podrá esperar al alumno/a ni a sus padres o representantes, en ningún caso. Un minuto de espera por cada alumno puede suponer un retraso mínimo de cuarenta o cincuenta minutos en todo el recorrido.

Al bajar del autobús, todos los alumnos, hasta 6º de Educación Primaria inclusive, salvo autorización expresa y por escrito, deben ser recogidos por sus padres o un adulto responsable. En caso de que no se encuentre esta persona en la parada, el alumno/a se quedará con el monitor responsable de la ruta después de que el autobús haya completado su recorrido.

Los autobuses se contratan a principios de curso de acuerdo con el número de alumnos/as que lo ha solicitado. Rogamos se abstengan de solicitarnos cambios de rutas para días determinados, en caso de que dicho cambio sea estrictamente necesario, deberán solicitarlo por escrito y con suficiente antelación para ser aprobado en reunión por el equipo directivo.

Al alumnado matriculado desde Educación Infantil hasta 2º Educ. Primaria, ambos inclusive, se le adjunta una tarjeta donde deberán anotar los siguientes datos: curso, nombre del alumno/a, nombre del padre/madre/tutor, teléfono, número de ruta y nombre de la parada. Se recomienda que, durante el primer mes, lleven dicha tarjeta en lugar bien visible.

Itineraries, Stops and Timetables of Bus Routes The timetables and stops below are provisional and may change according to demand. Should this occur we will tell you in September. The buses have a schedule and will be unable to wait because of the difficulties involved for the traffic and the waste of time.

Both Students and their parents are required to wait for the bus. Both on departure and arrival . The bus cannot wait as each delay is accumulative. A minute of waiting for each student can involve a minimum delay of forty or fifty minutes.

Getting off the bus, all students even 6th Primary Education, unless they have written authorization, must be picked up by their parents or a responsible adult. If that person is not at the stop, the students will stay with the monitor in charge until the bus has completed its journey.

Buses are hired at the beginning of the term according to the number of students who have requested it. Please refrain from asking bus changes for particular days. In case that change is absolutely necessary, it should be applied in writing and sufficiently in advance to be approved by the management team.

Students enrolled from Preschool Education to 2nd Primary Education must attach a card with the following information: course, student´s name / father´s or mother´s name, telephone, route number and stop name. It is recommended to place the card in a visible spot during the first month.
