UNIFIED
DESIGN WORKSHOPSA series of consultation workshops
were held with staff, students and the
project delivery team to inform the
overall look, feel and function of the
redesigned spaces.
CREATING A DYNAMIC SPACEDesigning Curtin Connect has been a collaborative process that started with a vision to transform and enrich the student experience. Curtin Connect is an innovative way of unifying multiple enquiry counters and an array of contact points into a ‘one-stop-shop’ where students and visitors are welcome to walk in and get instant access to what they need – fast!
Curtin University engaged leading interior designers Geyer to convert the physical and philosophical requirements of the project into a resolved design which cleverly occupies the existing built-form of buildings 101 and 102 and enables the functionality of
Curtin Connect.
“Design must reflect the practical and aesthetic in business but above all... good design must primarily serve people.” Thomas J. Watson – Businessman

PERSONALISED / RESPONSIVE / AGILE
B102
Building 102 will become a dynamic
space that provides a gateway for
students to interact with Curtin staff
and easily access the services and
support they need to get the most out
of their campus experience.
Curtin Connect will be a welcoming and
friendly space that will accommodate
all ‘front of house’ interactions with
a design objective to further improve
the customer service experience for
students and staff.
B101
Building 101 will be remodelled
to comfortably and stylishly
accommodate student engagement
staff and provide pop-up places
to casually meet, private spaces
to consult with colleagues and
personalised spaces to work.
CO-OP CURTIN UNIVERSITY BOOKSHOPAs part of the Greater Curtin Master
Plan to create a vibrant student hub
at the University Central Precinct, the
Co-Op Bookshop will be relocated
from B200 to B103 to ensure its close
proximity to Curtin Connect.
“The details are not the details. They make the design.” Charles Eames – Designer
The Curtin Connect project will be delivered while we continue to provide vital services and support to Curtin students.
In order to maintain business continuity
it will be necessary to temporarily
relocate student engagement staff
and permanently relocate Human
Resources and Curtin IT Services while
construction is underway in buildings
101, 102 and 103.
“Collaboration is the best way to work. It’s the only way to work, really.” Antony Starr – Actor

“If we are going to help our students
build a better future we need to find
innovative ways to support them on
their journey. The creation of Curtin
Connect demonstrates how we are
leading the way in the delivery of
students services and support by
providing a one-stop-shop at building
102 in the University Central Precinct.”
