Introduction to CNC Punching CNC punching is a computer controlled process that can easily stamp outhundreds of geometric shapes into a piece of sheetmetal in mere seconds. Itinvolves a punch, a die, some sheetmetal, and lot of gears, motors, electronics,bells, and whistles.
This process is ideal for generating quality, custom-made sheet metalfabrications in high volumes--well suited for the creation of items such aselectrical panels and computer casings. CNC punching is the fulcrum of today's
modern job shop.

If you need to make big or little holes in3/8" thick steel or more, you need somepretty significant drilling torque (or anIronworker). That's where our Mill Drillingservice really shines. We can make 1 inchdiameter holes in 1 inch thick steel.

Introduction to Shearing:
Shearing is cutting sheet metal intoappropriate dimensions for further
work such as CNC punching orforming. It involves a very powerfulscissor-like movement.

1/4" x 10' Sheet Metal. This capacity is far above typical requirements for mostsheet metal fabrications.

Metal Forming, Rolling & Shaping Services
Introduction to Metal Forming:
Metal forming is the process of applying pressureto sheet metal so that it is warped into a specificshape, according to design specifications. BerrienMetal Products, Inc utilizes four press brakes ofvarious tonnage for jobs with different bendingrequirements: 75-ton, 50-ton, 30-ton, and 15-ton.
BMP also performs sheet metal rolling with a 6
foot Roller that can "roll" sheet metal into curvedshapes (e.g. a cylindar).
Maximum Steel Bending Capabilities:
1" thick x 6" wide
1/4" thick x 8 ft wide

Tapping Service
Introduction to Tapping
A tapping service is the process of putting course or finethreads into steel to be able to easily use bolts and screws. This process involves drills specially equipped with reversedirection technology that very quickly yet delicately formsthreads in sheet metal. Countersinking Service
Introduction to Countersinking
Countersinking is the process of using either a punch anddie or a drill bit to widen the mouth of a hole in sheet metalon only one side to better accomodate screw heads thatneed to be able to be sunken into the material so as not toprotrude from the surface. Useful for projects that requireattaching various plates or fixtures without welding, while
also providing a somewhat aesthetic look. See also ourlathe drilling service and tapping service.

Tube Bending Service
Introduction to Tube Bending:
Tube bending can generate a variety ofshapes out of almost any thickness tube.Berrien Metal Products specializes intubes from .5 to 1.5 inches in diameter.We currently offer air-pressure assistedmanual tube bending, usually at 90 and45 degrees, which is sufficient for mostsimple-to-intermediate tube bending

Welding Services - Mig, Tig, Spot, Brazing Services
Introduction to Welding:
MIG welding, TIG welding, Spot Welding,and Brazing are the four most generallyused in the Sheet Metal Fabricationindustry, and is the fulcrum of metal
fabricating.
Metal Intert Gas (MIG) Welding is a semiautomated process where a strong electric
arc and a steady flow of welding materialare added to the welding surface. The
welder applies the weld to the correctlocation with the right style of movement and skill.
Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding is slightly different in that no actual materialis added to the welding surface, whereas the metal already present becomes
firmly welded together. On occassion, a TIG operator will manually add acertain amount of specifically tailored material for the material surface beingwelded.
