Micro Surveys

With the ability to create custom surveys with different response types. The micro surveys can be added

to any access journey. Once the customer has authenticated, the survey will be presented to them

before they can continue and get online. But with options to allow the customer to skip past the survey

or make it compulsory. Once the survey has been completed the results will be accessible within the

micro survey reports area.

There are three separate areas to Micro Surveys, you will need to access them in order to get the Micro

Survey live. These are:

• Marketing – This is where you can create the survey.

• Onboarding – We can select the required Micro Survey and add it to an access journey. This

will then make the survey live.

• Reports – Here you can access the results of any completed Micro Surveys.

1. Creating Micro Surveys

Click Marketing from the left-hand menu, the area will expand.

Click Micro surveys from the list.

The area will load and any existing surveys will be listed. If no surveys have been created the area will be blank.

For existing surveys, you will be able to view the following:

• Survey name

• Date created

• Owner

• If published

Each survey will have a fly out menu at the end, this will allow you can do the following:

• - Delete

• - Duplicate

• - Update

You are able to access any existing micro surveys by clicking the survey name. If the survey has

not been published you will be able to edit the contents, if published then no edits will be possible but you can duplicate the survey.

You can also create a new micro survey by clicking the button.

A small window will open, from here you can name the micro survey and select the ownership level (depending on login level).

Once the details are entered, click the button.

The screen will update and you will be taken to the micro survey creation page.

You have the ability to add a maximum of four questions, each question can have one of three

answer types, these are:

1. Rating – Ability to get a rating in either Stars or Circles

2. Multiple choice – With the ability to add a maximum of 5 answers

3. Text box – A freeform text box will appear for responses when live, nothing will appear on the screen when creating.

First, you will need to add the survey question in the empty field box. There is a maximum 98 characters per question.

Next select the Answer Type, depending on the selection will determine what appears below the question.

To add another question, click the Add Question button, then follow the above instruction.

On the right of the screen is the Survey name, this can be edited if required. This name will appear at the top of the survey that the customer will see when accessing the micro survey live.

You can also add Survey introduction text; this is a freeform text box with a limit of 92 characters.

Finally, you have the Opt out toggle button. This will allow the customer to either skip the survey if switched on or be forced to complete if switch off.

Now that the survey contents have been completed, you have a number of options available. These options are:

• Preview– This will open an additional window showing the survey as the customer

would see it.

• Save survey - This will allow the survey to be saved.

• Publish survey - This will publish the micro survey to it is available to assign

to an access journey.

• Return to library - This will return you back to the library.

If you wish to use this survey in an access journey it will need to be published.

Click the button.

1. A window will open advising that once published, it will be able to use in an access journey but you won’t be able to make any changes to the survey, are you sure you wish to publish now.

2. If you want to make further amendments to the survey, click the button.

3. If you are happy to publish click the button.

Once published you will be returned to the library and the Published column will display as Yes for this survey. It is now available to be added to any access journey.

When you click into any published survey the screen will be greyed out so no edits to the

content can be made.

There is a button, once clicked this will open the survey Settings area only. You will then be able to edit the following:

• Survey name

• Survey Introduction

• User can opt out of the survey.

Clicking the button to save any changes.

Clicking the button will return you to the library.

To delete a journey, hover you mouse over the fly-out menu , the available options will be displayed.

1. Select the button to delete the micro survey.

2. A message will appear asking you to confirm the deletion, click the button.

3. You can also duplicate any survey by clicking the duplicate button. Clicking this option will open the creation window to give the survey a new name.

4. If the micro survey is not published there will be an additional option in the fly-out menu,

the update button will allow the survey name to be updated. When selected, a window

will open displaying the current name. This can be edited and clicking to confirm.

2. Assigning to an Access Journey

Now that you have created the micro surveys, you need to make it live. To do this you will need to add the survey to an access journey, either an existing journey or creating a brand new journey.

a) To create a new Access Journey

1. Click the button.

2. The following window will open:

3. Enter the name of this new journey.

4. Select the Ownership scope from the drop down.

5. Select the Owned by from the drop down.

6. The Access journey screen will load:

7. This screen is split into 5 different sections, these are: (1) Splash Page – This is where your splash page is displayed, with the option to select

other splash pages.

(a) Your splash page will be displayed onscreen but you can access any created splash page you wish to use for the access journey.

(b) Click the Splash page template drop down.

(c) All created splash pages will be available, select the appropriate pages.

(d) The screen will update automatically with the different splash page.

(e) You can preview the splash page by clicking either preview icon.

(2) Custom Terms – Ability to turn on or off custom end user terms.

(a) By default, the option is turned off. To turn this option on:

(b) Click the icon to .

(c) The following additional fields will become available:

(d) In Specify new terms name enter the new terms name.

(e) In Specify your terms link text enter the new terms link text. (this is what will

show on the authentication process screen)

(f) In Copy and paste your new terms text here enter the text in the large text

box below the heading.

(g) Now click the button.

(h) The new terms will be displayed on the right of the screen.

(i) You can now edit , preview or delete the new terms created by

hovering your mouse over the fly out menu

(3) Micro Survey – Ability to assign a published Micro Survey to the journey.

(a) When you click the micro survey tab the screen will advise that no surveys have been selected. At the top of the screen will be a drop-down menu.

(b) Clicking this drop down will display any published micro surveys you have created, select the appropriate survey from the list.

(c) The screen will update and the micro survey selected will be displayed.

(4) Redirects – This is where you can setup your redirect once the end user has authenticated. You have the option to redirect to a URL or online splash page.

(a) You can create multiple redirects if required. You have two options to select

depending on what splash pages you have created.

(b) If you have created just an offline splash page in your library, you will only have a URL redirect available.

(c) If you have created an online splash page also you will have the option to redirect

to a URL or the online splash page.

(d) You can also set conditions to allow you to redirect customers based on specific information, these conditions can be either:

• Age

• Gender

• Number of visits

• Birthday

• Last visit

• Platform

• Browser

(e) To create a redirect, click the button.

(f) The screen on the right-hand side will load. The first option is to give the redirect

a name.

(g) Now select the type of redirect from the drop-down menu.

(h) The previous selection will determine the next field to complete. For URL redirect enter the URL address. If the Online splash page was selected, you will have a drop down to select the required online splash page.

(i) Next, set if this redirect is the default or not. (Setting as default will mean if no criteria are met the one set as default will be used as the redirect).

(j) You can now set the conditions, click the button.

(k) The following will appear:

(l) You can now add the first condition, click the drop-down menu and select the

required condition.

(m) Once the first condition is set you can either add another condition or create an OR condition. This mean you can have two different conditions that can be met for this redirect to activate.

(n) Create as many conditions as required.

(o) Once the final condition has been completed click the button.

(p) A green tick will appear to advise that the redirect has saved.

(q) Your redirect is now set up and is displayed on the left.

(5) Options – Set specific options specific to the access journey.

(a) Seamless login - Turning this option to 'On' provides faster access onto your WiFi for repeat users.

(i) Interrupt seamless logins for a micro survey – This will make the survey

available to be completed even when seamless is turned on

(b) Ask for Facebook ‘Like’ - Turning this option to 'On' will prompt Facebook users to 'Like' your Facebook page before accessing your WiFi.

(c) Ask for a Twitter ‘Follow’ – Turning this option ‘On’ will prompt Twitter users to

‘Follow’ your Twitter page before accessing the WiFi.

(d) Ask user to opt-in to marketing material? - Turn on if you require your visitors to specifically opt-in to receiving marketing material from you.

(i) Turn on or off the ‘By default, users agree to accept’ option.

(ii) You have the ability to enter your own text for prompting for the agreement.

(e) COPPA enabled (Region 1 only) - COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection),

if enabled then users under the age restriction will not be able to access the WiFi

network.

(i) When this option is switched on you can set the age restriction limit by clicking the drop down and selecting the appropriate age level.

(ii) You can also enter the text that will be displayed when someone under the age limit tries to access the WiFi.

(f) Verify identity via SMS - Turning this option to 'On' provides faster access onto

your WiFi for repeat users.

(i) This will open tick boxes to turn on or off SMS verification for each social media and registration form.

8. You can save the access journey at any point by clicking the button. 9. A drop down will appear giving you the option to either:

(1) Save Journey. (2) Create a language version.

10. Select Save journey from the list.

11. Now you can publish the splash page to make it live and so making the Micro Survey live

also.

12. Click the button, a “Public Setting” window will open.

13. Clicking the drop down will display the available options for your login. As mentioned, your

login will determine where you can publish the splash pages. When a selection is made, an additional drop down will appear, giving different options dependent on the first selection.

14. Select the appropriate level and then click Publish to make the splash page live along with

the micro survey.

Assigning a Micro Survey to an existing unpublished Journey 1. Click the required access journey name from the library templates.

2. No click the Micro Survey tab.

3. The screen will load and advise no surveys have been selected, or if one had already been

selected it will be displayed on the screen.

4. Click the Micro survey template drop-down menu.

5. All created surveys will be listed, select to appropriate survey from the list.

6. It will then be displayed on the screen to review.

7. You can now continue with the other access journey options or click the Save or Publish

button depending if ready for the journey to go live.

3. Micro Survey Report

Any Micro surveys assigned to a published access journey will be displayed in this report area. You are

able to click into any survey for a full breakdown as required.

Click any micro survey from the overview screen.

The page will open and a full breakdown is available.

At the top of the report the number of Participants will be displayed along with the number of

Responses received and Total skipped.

The questions created within the survey will then be displayed along with the relevant results received.

For Rating questions you will have the 1-5 stars listed and to the right the percentage of people who selected that rating.

Hovering your mouse over the percentage will display a box containing the percentage but also

the number of participants.

For Multiple choice questions the answers specified will be displayed and again the percentage of customer who selected that answer.

For Text box questions the question will be displayed and below a breakdown of the responses. The information will be broken down into four different columns. These are:

1. Name 2. Date 3. Venue 4. Response

When you scroll through the results, the first 20 will be displayed.

To view the full list, click the button, this will open another window and display all the results.

Clicking the button to close the window

You also have the option to download the results, clicking the button will display the available download options. Either download as PDF or CSV.

5. PDF will download but will not show any text box responses. 6. CSV will download all the information

Click the button to return the micro survey overview screen
