Operating with a chain of nearly 1400 stores in Asia, Australia, Europe and NAmerica, the client is a multi product and multi channel retailer that provides printcopying and binding services.

Business Challenges

The client needed to optimize the performance of predefined transactions for OrdePay (OTP). The OTP product suffered from a performance bottleneck and concurreissues. The response time to complete the operations was drastically poor andclient required testing the system to determine how much load it can handle if mulusers are hitting the server simultaneously from different locations.

Infogains Solution

Infogain proposed to introduce a hibernate framework that is easy to mainextensible and provides a high performance boost in just two months time. Infocarefully studied the clients Order-to-Pay workflow in order to integrate the Hiberframework without breaking any of the existing functionality.

Infogain also performed load testing of the application using SilkPerformer. Ltesting on Swing-based thick client application is a complicated task as most of thload testing tools do not work properly on thick clients. To overcome this limitatInfogain wrote JUnit test cases to bypass the Swing layer and then load tested application.

Solution Benefits

The client realized vast improvements in their operational efficiencies and custoservices as a result of performance optimization. Infogains easy to maintain extensible workflow provided a 50% to 80% performance boost in a very stimeframe.
