... Although I love the extremes, a certain equilibrium state is essential for all my work. Life and art need contrasts, contrary things, which have to be kept in balance in a certain ways. I find myself again and again, while working on idea and conception, when I tilt from one side to the other like a beam balance, just to swing shortly after in an unstable steady state. The possibility to lose balance gives me a thrill and demands me in many ways. Stability is boring. Curiosity and break away are appealing. And still, an equilibrium state is an absolute must…

The Swiss painter and sculptor draws her inspiration from Nature and her numerous journeys. She takes us on a trip in a world of lights, mirror plays and transparencies with her aluminium pieces and sensorial abstractions.

The spectators circle the sculptures as though touching the relief of a painting to better grasp the emotions conveyed by the artist, finding themselves amused and astonished before the works that constantly evolve with light in a constant play between reflection and reflect.

Each work boasts several levels of reading, giving each of us the chance to read what they want to unearth depending on their life experience or simply, according to the whim of the moment.

Carole Kohler gives everyone the freedom to find their own red thread around these powerful, sensitive colours and shapes.

Peintre et sculpteur suisse, cette artiste inspirée par la Nature et ses nombreux voyages nous entraîne dans un monde de lumière, de jeux de miroir, de transparences grâce à ses œuvres en aluminium et à ses abstractions sensorielles.

Le spectateur bouge autour des sculptures, semble pouvoir toucher les reliefs des tableaux comme pour mieux s’imprégner des émotions transmises par l’artiste, pour s’amuser et s’étonner devant des œuvres qui évoluent avec la lumière, dans un jeu constant entre réflection et réflexion.

De nombreux chemins de lecture peuplent chaque œuvre pour mieux permettre à chacun d’y lire ce dont il a besoin et envie selon son vécu et son humeur.

Carole Kohler laisse chacun libre de trouver son propre fil d’Ariane au détour de ses formes et de ses couleurs à la fois puissantes et sensibles.
