I am a PhD qualified Spanish language and literature teacher, with extensive managerial and coaching experience in the state education sector in Spain, Andorra and the UK. I started my career in the education sector in Spain back in 1990 and I was seconded by the Spanish Government -with diplomatic status- to the European School in Culham (Oxfordshire) until August 2017 with the possibility to leave earlier for the right position.
I am results-oriented, and have demonstrated enormous resilience and a rare ability to deliver outstanding results when managing a multi-tasked workload under great levels of pressure. I am strongly skilled at inspiring and motivating students.
I am looking for a new challenge in my career, a position to which I can contribute my expertise in developing/delivering Spanish language modules -including the technology to enhance language learning-, my research skills, as well as my leadership and mentoring skills.

Dear Sir / Madam.
I write to explore the potential for joining your department. My achievements as a scholar and teacher of
Spanish for more than 25 years in Spain, Andorra and United Kingdom would make me a strong
contributor to the success of your students.
As you will see, I am a highly qualified and experienced teacher of Spanish language and literature.
Furthermore, I can speak fluently three languages (Spanish, Catalan, and English). After I earned my
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Philology in 1990, I undertook my Ph.D., which resulted in a dissertation
about Andrenio y la crítica literaria. Los artículos de La Vanguardia (1909-1929) which I gained with a First
Class Honours. The work includes unknown letters between Andrenio and the most influential Spanish
intellectuals and writers such as Clarín, Galdós, Unamuno, Blasco Ibánez, E. Pardo Bazán and the vision
of the political journalism and culture movements from the beginning of the twentieth century until 1929.
I became a teacher with civil service status in 1991 by means of a competitive examination given by the
Government of Catalonia. I started to teach high school until I decided to pass a rigorous nationwide
examination process for Spanish International Educational Programmes. I was selected in 2005 to work in
a Spanish School in Andorra. In 2007 I obtained the first position of the competition which allowed me to
choose the European System and work as seconded Spanish teacher, with diplomat status, for the
European Commission at the European School in Culham. I chose Culham because of its excellent
reputation and the fact it is an extremely demanding school with the best European Baccalaureate results.1
I am entitled to remain seconded to the European School until August 2016.
Since September 2007, I have taught Spanish Language and Literature to native-speakers (in the “Mother
Tongue” program. L1), Spanish as a foreign Language 3 and Language 4 at the European System.
As part of my Doctorate studies programme I have an excellent research framework which covers: from
Spanish literature in Medieval ages, the narrative of the Spanish Golden Age to the nineteenth century
novelist and some of the most relevant authors of the Spanish American Literature. I obtained the
Certificate of Proficiency in Academic Research to carry out my investigations for the Ph.D in 1996 which
allowed me to have Professor, Dr. Rosa Navarro Durán, as my mentor. I obtained a prestigious graduate
student grant to finish my Ph.D (Fundación Caja Madrid).
Recently, I have been accepted in the role of coordinator and participant in the research “Tradición e
interculturalidad”, Europa, un proyecto vivo: educar para la interculturalidad, Horizon 2020, TRINEU May
2015.
My Academic qualifications, such as Ph.D in Spanish, Proficiency Certificate in Academic Research, BA in
Spanish Literature and Language as well as the Masters Degree in Education (Management Schools and
organization) allows me:
Mentoring and fostering Erasmus Placements from several Spanish Universities (Zaragoza-Huesca)
and as well supervised students of Masters in Teacher training since 2012.
Mentoring teachers since 2010 in the Estancias profesionales (Job shawdowing) of the Ministerio de
Educación and the European Union Long life learning program.

Teaching and assessing the second cycle for the Postgrade Certificate of Education from 1995 to 1997
during 40 lectures each year.
Participating as a teacher in a role of a coordinator the S7 L3 (17 to 19 year old students) in the
research Reading Comprehension Programme Laluna.com which included: on line debate and other
activities in Spanish Language and culture. Year 2011-2012, European School Munich, Culham and
University Ludwig Maximilians, Munich, Germany.
Related to my teaching role and education through technologies and innovations:
Developing and delivering modules of Spanish Syllabus in the Common European Framework.
Including the technology to enhance language learning within in the European System.
Contributing to develop the vle.esculham.net in order to create, to update and deliver topics of Spanish

Creating my Spanish blog since August 2007, awarded on 3 occasions, one in 2008, and two in 2011
by the Presidency of the European Commission (General Secretary of the EE) and the Spanish
Institute of Educational Technology, Spanish Ministry of Education and Culture.
Creating, distributing and uploading topics of the Spanish society and Hispanic culture.
I would also contribute to the Department as I did as a Coordinator / Head of languages for the European
System:
Coordinating in my role as Head of Department the L3-L5, foreign languages (Spanish, Dutch, Italian,
German, French and Portuguese) in the European School Culham since 2008.
Undertaking as a Coordinator of Languages to implement the new modules and Syllabus for Spanish
L3 (Spanish as a foreign language) and the new L1 (Spanish mother tongue) papers for the European
Baccalaureate since 2013.
Contributing to the planning and preparation of the exam papers for Languages and subject group,
forward planning, harmonised exams for Secondary and European Baccalaureate.
