Calendar for Seniors Helpful Hint: Listen for important daily bulletin announcements throughout the year. Read and review the bulletin and Counselor link on our website for details! Maintain your highest level of academic achievement and apply for California Scholarship Federation (CSF) membership each semester as grades permit Secure on-line applications for admission from the post high school/college / vocational program of your choice. U.C. and Cal State applications are available the beginning of October. Update/continue to list school/community service/work experiences for colleges and scholarships August/September If credit deficit, see your counselor for credit recovery availability Plan to attend College Night at Crafton College or elsewhere when advertised in October Register for the SAT, SAT Subject Exams, or ACT tests. December is the last testing date for seniors! Update/continue to list school/community service work experience for colleges and scholarships Monitor deadlines Outside scholarships will be announced in the daily bulletin as they become available. Check due dates of Private and out of state colleges Notify the CVHS registrar to send transcripts as needed; first 3 transcripts are free--$1.00 per copy after

correspondence thoroughly Request counselor/teacher recommendations early ---two or three weeks’ notice is recommended;

provide a pre-addressed envelope with postage; include with your request a resume, personal goals, academic accomplishments/community service

applicants should have all testing complete Students seeking Financial Aid should forewarn parents the income taxes need to be prepared early Pick up any information on the FAFSA (financial aid application) before winter break. The actual

application becomes available January 1st. Don’t forget Cal Grant information Check for outside scholarships Meet the deadline for private college scholarship applications Notify CVHS registrar to send seventh semester transcripts as needed

Class ring, cap and gown, senior announcement information available College acceptance notices mailed to applicants Apply to local community colleges, take placement tests

May/June

Announcement of those students who are to receive student aid College acceptance notices to be mailed to applicants Announcement of local scholarship recipients Arrange for a final transcript to be sent to the college you are planning to attend A.P. Exams- check for times and testing rooms Final adjustments/delivery for caps and gowns, senior announcements Senior Events; Senior Banquet, Spring Fling, Senior Awards Night, Senior Breakfast, High School Graduation!
