What Are “YOU” Thankful For!

Thanksgiving is a word that brings a smile to many faces like praising in the Spirit of the Lord. We have many things to be thankful for when you stop, take a moment, and think about the blessings God has bestowed on us. Thanks be to God for providing us with family and friends enjoying fellowship together, blessings of newborn babies with little smiles, graduations, weddings, food, and a place called home each and every day. Our God is a Great God if we just release our burdens, ask for forgiveness, pray for peace, relax and meditate on the goodness he delivers to us daily.

When is the last time you stepped outside and just took in a deep breath and just said Thank You Lord! God has provided us four seasons that cause us to shift into another gear with purpose and love in each new season. Fall is here and we are met with a cool briskness in the air, which means for us to get moving with life, and a warmth that covers us with much of what Gods Love is about. For each season we must be transformed and rejuvenated to Gods’ purpose.

I give Jehovah Jireh our “Provider” all the glory for restoring my soul each season with a renewed Spirit! Thank you for my Life!

CWC Intercessory Prayer and Worship Team:

The mission of the Intercessory Prayer Team is to pray the heart of our God. Standing in the gap (interceding) for the body of Christ, to call upon the Lord, to send his power so that souls may be saved and lives may be changed, and to pray for God’s direction and pro-vision over every area of the CWC mission/vision “Belong-Believe-Become as given by our Sr. Pastors.

The Lord desires relationship and fellowship with the new and mature believer. One key component to a good rela-tionship is continuous communication. This time of com-municating with the Lord is called “Prayer”. Prayer could seem to be complicated and overwhelming when we fo-cus on what we think should be said, how it should be said, how others pray, etc. All of these are hindrances that keep us from being comfortable praying. But plain and simple prayer is talking to God just like we talk to our best friend. As we grow in relationship with the Lord by spending time in Worship and in the Word we will begin to understand those things that are important to God. Then

not only will we desire to talk to Him about things that concern us, we will begin to talk to Him about things that

concern Him. We will find ourselves praying for our communities, for people groups, for countries and nations we may know nothing about. Prayer is vital to all that God wants to do on the earth. Prayer is so powerful that it can change an individual heart or a whole nation. This is why the enemy fights so hard to keep us from praying. The Lord has made a way for us to come to Him through the blood of Jesus and the only thing the enemy can do against that is cause us to doubt, or to think that we are unworthy. I would encourage us cast down every thought that is contrary to the word of the Lord and believe Him when He says we are REDEEMED and we are the RIGHTEOUSNESS of Christ! With that we can come to Him in prayer with confidence, with joy, and with expectation. We can come to Him knowing that He hears us, He will speak to us, and He will answer us!!

We have awesome times of prayer at CWC every Saturday. The Lord loves the one on one time with Him and He also

desires that we come together as a body of believers to pray, this is called corporate prayer. The Lord has given us a

mandate through Pastor Ruff that every member of CWC is to pray together on the first Saturday of each month. I

encourage us to heed to the command of the Lord and plan monthly to be at CWC from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. for First Fruits

Prayer. Also, everyone is welcome to join us the remaining Saturdays of the month from 8-9 for corporate prayer. What

a privilege we have, to carry everything to God in prayer.

Women’s Diabetes Health News

What is Diabetes?

Diabetes is caused when the foods we eat convert to blood glucose

in our body. Insulin is needed to help get the glucose into our cells.

Insulin is produced by our pancreas and acts like a key to unlock our

cells for the glucose to get in. Sometimes the pancreas either

makes too much insulin or not enough to help the body to get rid of the

glucose.

Type 1 refers to Juvenile diabetes and it is the inability of the

pancreas to produce any insulin which is usually identified during

childhood. This is usually a life long problem which requires shots of

insulin to help burn the glucose in our system daily.

Type 2 refers to Adult Onset, usually occurring after the age of 40.

This is the pancreas inability to either produce a little insulin or not

enough to burn off the glucose in the body, or we can not use the insu-

lin properly in our body which causes the glucose to spike in our sys-

tem thus causing damage to other organs in the body system.

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of disability and death in the

United States. It can cause blindness, nerve damage, kidney disease,

and other health problems if it’s not controlled. A recent study also

showed that women are at 40% higher risk for heart disease and in-

creased heart attack than men.

Symptoms are frequent urination, feeling very thirsty and hun-

gry - even though you are eating. Extreme fatigue, blurry vision,

wounds that are slow to heal, weight loss - even though you are eating

more (type 1), and tingling, pain, or numbness in the hands/feet (type

2).

If you are overweight, have high blood pressure, or are age 45 or older,

you are at higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The good news is

that making healthy changes can greatly lower your risk.

To lower your risk for type 2 diabetes:

Eat healthy proportioned meals regularly

2) Watch your weight

3) Get more physical activity

Caramelized Butternut Squash

6 Servings

2 medium butternut squash (4 to 5 pounds total)

6 -8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled 1⁄4 cup light brown sugar, packed

1 1⁄2 teaspoons kosher salt 1⁄2-1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

With clean hands, toss all of the ingredients together and spread out in a single layer on the baking sheet. What is Girls Ministries?

Mpact Girls Ministries is about intentional outreach and Christian discipleship for girls. We teach girls biblical truths that will help them learn to make God-pleasing decisions.

Mpact Girls Clubs is a program for winning girls (and preschool boys) to Jesus Christ through love and acceptance. Mpact Clubs provide an environment of support and accountability while helping girls to develop their gifts and abilities. In addition, girls build lifelong relationships with mentors who encourage girls to be spiritual leaders.

Vision

To see every girl moving toward a deep rela-tionship with Jesus Christ. We seek to empower girls to realize their importance and potential in

the kingdom of God.

We seek a future where girls and lead-ers — through mentoring and disciple-ship — form lasting, life-changing friendships.

Values Holy Spirit guidance A servant ministry Cultural relevance Teamwork and cooperation Christ-like character

Mentored Youth Programs Girls ages 11- 18 years of age

We have been doing Charisma, over 15 years, with great success. Our success, is hearing from young ladies over the past 15 plus years of how Charisma blessed their lives.

Charisma's mission:

Our mission is to see young ladies, live a whole life, through practical application and becoming all that they desire to be. By teaching these young ladies that: No one completes anyone, but should add value to their lives. Mentoring these young ladies, go beyond teaching them the scripture and what God says. It's about showing them how to live it, as they become all God has said they can be. As a young lady, life doesn't start and stop at being a daughter, sister, wife, or mother. It begins as one learns who they are, not what others tell them, they are. When you are able to look in the mirror and say what you see, they aren’t only the reflection, and this comes when you begin to learn who you are!

Goals & objective:

We impart Godly principals in everything we do. We instill in each young lady how to develop Godly self-esteem and self-worth, how to dress with confidence, Public speaking skills, finance skills (Budgeting, savings, balancing your accounts, etc), and etiquette (table, communication, dress, work, etc). We are very hands on, teaching cooking skills, basic sewing skills (every young lady should know how to sew on a button and repair a hem) and much more. We provide a safe place for them to express themselves without judgment, but to love them and provide wise counsel on how to adjust the things that may need the be changed and to accept themselves for just who they are. To look themselves in the mirror and not stop at the reflection they see, but to see past the reflection to see their strengths, qualities, passions and desires. We encourage them and cheer them on, in church, school, activities, and life completely.

Mentorship Opportunities:

Mentor opportunities are available to the young ladies as well from the older ones. I have ad some young ladies from years past to share a career day, and by just stopping by. We welcome those that are welling to help and provide positive influence, through direction and guidance and most important by example.

Train up a child in the way he should go;

even when he is old he will not depart

from it.

Lift 1 Up Designs was started in 2005 as a way to channel

my creativity. Since I can remember I have always like

being creative. I “fell” into by accident when the current

person was not able to take on the extra responsibility so

she handed the reigns to me. After many long nights work-
