CWM® Accreditation Under SEBI ( Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013 - EFFECT

As per the recent development, any individual or entity willing to provide Financial Advisory Services is mandated to register with the SEBI as the Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) under the SEBI ( Investment Advisers) Regulations, 2013, It further mentions the certification requirement to register as the RIA under the Regulation 7(2) enumerated as below:Regulation 7 - Qualification and certification requirement

7 (2) An individual registered as an investment adviser and partners and representatives of investment advisers registered under these regulations offering investment advice shall have, at all times, a certification on financial planning or fund or asset or portfolio management or investment advisory services:(a) from NISM; or(b) from any other organization or institution or any recognized stock exchange in India provided that such certification is accredited by NISM.:Provided that the existing investment advisers seeking registration under these regulations shall ensure that their partners and representatives obtain such certification within two years i.e. (April 21, 2015) from the date of commencement of these regulations:Provided further that fresh certification must be obtained before expiry of the validity of the existing certification to ensure continuity in compliance with certification requirement.

NISM X A & X B Series is also one of the eligible certification under Regulation 7 of Securities Exchange Board of India Investment Advisers Regulation 2013

CHARTERED WEALTH MANAGERTM (CWMTM) is unique and the Premier Certification in Wealth Management certification in India. CWM certification is professional qualification for aspiring candidates who want to establish their career in Wealth Management and the professional who want to upgrade and enhance their skill set as per the mandatory requirement posted by the regulator and the industry by understanding the financial instrument in depth of India & globe.

XA Series helps the candidate to know the basics of investment advisory, steps in the advisory process, making and implementation of financial plan. XB Series focuses helps him to know the comprehensive financial planning in the context of households to apply the planning elements learnt in Level 1 Certification Examination.

Courseware for the Certification

The Courseware for the CWM certification is provided by AAFM India approved from AAFM, US. The benefit of courseware provided by the Board will helps in the standardization amongst the industry and maintaining the education standards and quality. The courseware covers Global plus Indian content in detail.

The Courseware for certification is provided by NISM which is exclusive for two units. The courseware covers Indian content only.

The curriculum of CWM certification have been designed and developed in consultation with the global academicians and industry experts with a focus on Wealth Management and Financial Advisory Services Industry. The curriculum of CWM is relevant, practical, and exhaustible in nature and also covers Global Financial System, Derivatives, Equity Analysis, PMS, Real Estate Valuation, Loan & Debt Management, Intergenerational Wealth Transfer, International Taxation, Relationship Management, Behavioral Finance, etc.

The curriculum is designed to focus on Financial Planning Services Industry which covers Introduction to Financial Planning, Insurance Planning, Retirement Planning, Asset allocation & Investment strategies, Investment vehicles, Tax and Estate Planning. XA & XB series focuses on personal Financial Planning, Regulatory & Compliance Aspects.

Examination Pattern

In CWM certification there are 2 levels of examinations i.e. Level 1 and Level 2. The examinations are online and are conducted on Monthly basis across India at the PEARSON VUE centers. The duration of Level 1 examination is of 2.00 Hours and Level 2 is 3 Hours and all the questions are MCQ in nature with NO negative marking.The Experience Pathway is exempted from Level 1 Examination

In NISM XA(level 1) & XB(level 2) series, there are 2 levels of examinations. The examinations are conducted on daily basis across India at NSE Centers. Both level 1 & level 2 are of 2 Hours each and all the questions are MCQ in nature with 25% Negative marking.

Global Certification - Territorial Limitation

The certification is awarded directly by the parent body AAFM®, US which makes the CWM® certification truly global and is accepted globally without any territorial limitation. The candidates do not have to undergo any additional certification / examination if he / she want to pursue their career in any other jurisdiction.

The certification is awarded by the Indian Chapter i.e. FPSB India which restricts the certification to be global in true sense and is recognized in India only. The candidates will have to undergo additional certification / examination, if he / she want to pursue their career in any other valid country.

Output from Certification

CWM Certification is unique and the Premier Certification in Wealth Management certification in India. CWM certification is professional qualification for aspiring candidates who want to establish their career in Wealth Management and the professional who want to upgrade and enhance their skill set as per the mandatory requirement posted by the regulator and the industry

CFP is a professional qualification for aspiring & experienced Financial Planners. CFP Certification covers all aspects of an individual’s personal finance needs like insurance, retirement, tax & estate, investment etc.

Industry Integrated The CWM certification is an Industry Integrated program syncing with the existent industry business model of Financial Advisory Services including Retail as well HNI client wealth management services. The certification is flexible in nature which can get adopted and accepted with the changing financial advisory systems.

The CFP certification focuses on Financial Planning Industry which is evolve as a business in India and develop a Fee Based Advisory Model in the current financial advisory services and it may take some more years to establish such fee based advisory model in India.
