• Tell ANYONE your password – except your parents.• Talk to anyone online on any site that you do not

know personally.• Reply to any email from a person you do not know.

Show it to your parents or teacher.• Spam other people’s email (Send bulk nonsense

mail / chain letters)• Try to hack into someone else’s email or User

Account.• Give out any personal details like real name,

phone numbers, address, school, etc.• Subscribe to any Online Magazines or Newsletters

or any other site that asks for your personal information.

• Send / upload photographs of yourself or any of your friends without your parents or your friends permission.

ALWAYS:

• Call your parents or your teacher if you receive any email or any interaction online that makes you feel uncomfortable or threatened. Do not reply or respond to any of these email or online interactions. (This includes Facebook, Mxit, Twitter, IM, Blogs, email, etc)

• Check your privacy setting for any online social media platform and ensure that you only give your friends access to your information.

Email / User Names• Some platforms ask you for your email

address and a User Name. Here you enter your gmail address and your “Made-Up” User Name.

Q:Why do they need your email address?A: Because you may forget your password

or they may have updates and news about the site you are using.

Q:Why do you use a Made Up User Name?A:For your own safety and privacy.
