Who we are? More than forty years of experience in

aviation security, with more than twenty-

five years in computed tomography (CT).

More than 90 percent of the world’s top

fifty busiest airports rely on Smiths

Detection equipment.

Today, more than 1,000 airports use our products to form the core of their total airport solutions—from checkpoint to hold baggage screening.

Who we are?• We have more than 4,000 HBS units

worldwide—with over 1,300 EDS machines in the United States alone. That’s more than 2,000 deployed CT EDS units in the world.

• We are in more than 70 percent of the world’s 100 largest airports with our integrated HBS networking solution.

• More than 75,000 X-ray systems delivered worldwide in more than 180 countries.

• More than 24,500 explosive trace (ETDs) detectors worldwide.

Preparing for the future …• Develop the minimum specific technical controls to enable

centralised and automated remote patching and updates.

• Develop a specification for the format and extent of logging required from systems and how those logs must be shared as standard.

• Develop a specification for use of removeable storage with product and the required level and approach to encryption
