From pioneering space programs to fighting global cybercrime, Colorado Springs has attracted and cultivated many of the world’s largest cyber

companies. Colorado Springs is regularly identified as one of the top-five cities for cybersecurity jobs and is attracting a large cybersecurity workforce.

Cybersecurity has a long history in Colorado Springs, initiated by the military commands that have historically depended upon information security. From data centers to financial services to insurance carriers, cybersecurity is paramount and has led to the creation of a robust commercial cyber industry.

The city is the headquarters for the top company in the world on the CyberSecurity 500 List (root9B), as well as the home to the Western Cyber Exchange and the Cyber Security Institute for Small and Mid-Sized Businesses.

Extraordinary Cybersecurity Military Presence The Air Force Space Command provides resilient space and cyberspace

capabilities for the Joint Force and the nation. The U.S. Northern Command/NORAD Joint Cyber Center provides cyber consequence, response and recovery support.

Academic Involvement The United States Air Force Academy includes the Academy Center for Cyberspace Research and Cyber Innovation Center.

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs is home to cyber research programs sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, IARPA and NSF and include secure cyber infrastructure, resilient cloud, risk analysis for critical infrastructure protection, and cyber degree programs, plus the Cyber P3i Program with the U.S. Army Reserve.

• Colorado Technical University offers master’s degree programs in cyber science with concentrations in computer systems security, database systems and software engineering.

• Regis University offers a NSA-certified Information Assurance program with a cybersecurity specialization.

• Webster University offers a master’s degree in cybersecurity and graduate certificates in cybersecurity and threat protection.

A newly created center for cybersecurity response, education, R&D and training with 3 major components:
