Picture the scene; Zinedine Zidane is his country's greatest, most experienced and important player. Hehas just dragged his country to the World Cup 2006 final in Germany after his team had all but beenwritten off.

He has turned back the years and reminded everyone just how good he used to be with a legendaryperformance across the tournament.

His early penalty in the final gives his team the lead before Marco Materazzi equalizes. Once level,Italy starts to strangle the game and with 10 minutes to go in extra time, just as his team needs himmost, he explodes.

Zidane's headbutt on Materazzi has become the defining image of the 2006 World Cup, and perhaps hiscareer.

It is also one of the most bizarre moments in football history.

7 - 2008: e "runk #eferee!

We're well used to questioning whether the referee needs glasses and their parentage, but have you everwondered if the referee was drunk?

In 2008, Sergei Shmolik refereed a Belarusian Premier League match between Vitebsk and Naftan.

Voted the best referee in Belarus in 2007, Shmolik refereed the entire game from the centre circlebefore he was escorted from the pitch!

Needless to say, a medical test after the match found high levels of alcohol in his system and he waseventually suspended by the Belarusian FA.

How he even got to the pitch is anyone's guess, and then how he lasted 90 minutes in the centre circlewill go down as one of the most baffling referee performances of all time.

The frightening thing is that Shmolik might even have had the best game of his career, and never knew

We've all seen referee decisions that just can't be explained in any way shape or form.

Well, meet the daddy of them all!

In 2008, Reading and Watford were locked in a promotion battle to the Premiership when referee StuartAtwell made one of the most baffling decisions ever!

The result caused outrage across the world with Ireland's governing body even going as far as to askFIFA for a replay.

Henry, the greatest player in Arsenal's history and one of the best players to ever grace the EnglishPremier League, also came in for huge flak for his graceless behaviour during and after the match.

Amidst the turmoil of the FAI looking for a replay and every single news source on the planet coveringthe story, FIFA in an amazingly baffling move decided to offer the FAI a Fair Play award to placatetheir protests.

The Asian Games in 2010 saw Qatar U-23's and Uzbekistan's U-23's meet in the Round of 16.

With the game deadlocked at 0-0 after 90 minutes, it moved into extra time.

Fifty seconds into extra time and we were gifted with one of the best and most baffling blooper misses

of all time when Fahad Khalfan of Qatar missed an open goal.

Eight minutes later and the Uzbeks took the lead to win the game 1-0!

!he U3 Sea )ragons= im erious unbeaten run came to a halt on Saturday against adetermined 8al4in outfit. 8ygnet fielded an almost unchanged side from the team that beat

Huon alley 5% the re4ious week6 but it was a different story on the itch. 8al4in o enedthe scoring and soon asserted their attacking rowess with a free flowing erformancereminiscent of ?rendan RodgersL (i4er ool team. !here are no easy games at this le4el6 and8ygnet soon found themsel4es on the wrong side of a four goal deficit6 the 4isitors ghosting

ast the back four to dink the ball into the net. Se4eral times.

!he fight back began with :uan o ening the scoring for the home team with a ma y run andsome clinical finishing to ut the ball in the back of the net. It wasn=t enough to stem the tideand the 4isitors res onded with two more6 taking the game to 35$. Some dominant indi4idual

lay from Jamie resulted in another goal for the home team before the half time whistle with

the game delicately oised at 35*.

- tactical reshuffle and some citrus refreshment at half time looked like it had turned the tideback in 8ygnet=s fa4our. :7cellent work in midfield from "lynn and Riley ut 8ygnet back inthe dri4ing seat. :uan was first to attack with an audacious lob6 only to be denied by thewoodwork. He soon atoned by duly des atching another howit er in the back of the net tomake it 35+6 and the young maestro had his own la dcima for the season. !im maintainedthe Sea )ragon tsunami with a great indi4idual effort to take it to 35'6 and it really wasbeginning to look like a game of two hal4es.

It was not to be the Sea )ragons= day howe4er. 8al4in weathered the storm6 digging deeto add to their tally with two late goals6 and a scoreline which flattered the 4isitors of D5'. -thrilling game of end to end footballB the layers may ha4e been short on stature butcertainly not short on goals.

-nother nail biter this week with lots of close calls and near misses. !he first half was 4ery closeand as usual Huon ro4ed to be a force to be reckoned with as he dis layed awesomedefence and running with the ball. He scored the first goal and continued to ut ressure onthe other team. ?illy dis layed brilliant defending as goalkee er sa4ing se4eral balls andcontinued with im ro4ing6 confident footwork in the second half on the itch. !ommydemonstrated great energy after a few weeks break and managed to attack andmanoeu4re the ball ast the other team. Rory continues to dis lay awesome skill withclearing the ball and ama ing defence. ?enny scored the other goal and had a few other4ery near misses6 which caused much an7iety on the side lines. He showed ersistence andgrit as did Hugo defending well in the first half and goal kee ing in the second half. It was agreat effort for first time in the goal and he managed to deflect a number of balls.

!he team is becoming more cohesi4e and continues to build on its strengths. &ell done toe4eryone.

lenty of o ortunities for themsel4es. 8ygnet team layed a good defensi4e game6relentlessly dis ossessing the >argate team o4er and o4er. -t the other end of the itch8ygnet mo4ed forward like a tsunami assing and lacing through balls at crucial times. &e

layed downhill first half and u hill the second half6 not in the difficulty of task faced butliterally ob4iously the ground was created at time when dum y le4el=s did not e7ist.

Siya and Jas er shared kee ing duties. ?oth worked hard to kee a number of goals out. !hegoals >argate did score would ha4e beaten the best of kee ers. It looked like at least one of>argate=s layers may ha4e had some e7 erience in the :nglish #remier (eague6 with anumber of shots on 8ygnet goal struck with the force of a bullet train and with such deadlyaccuracy it would make a cobra snake cry.

&hen 8ygnet are working their magic it=s not hard to imagine a scene from 8rouching !igerHidden )ragon . warriors floating through the air6 skimming the water and battling in treesand on roofto s there is no esca e from a team that defies belief and the laws of hysics.

&ith the calmness of a en >onk -nnabelle within the first few minutes sliced and diced herway to the >argate goal mouth. &ith the >argate goal within sight she then unleashedargate6 with a blindingly eru ti4e right foot @ab to gi4e 8ygnet an early lead.

!he first $% min of the game was layed without argate. &ith skills this good it is only a matter of time until this youngInternational forces the officials to change the rules of soccer to gi4e others a chance.

St !hereseLs were without their coach so we had a few issues 5 they tried to ha4e $% layers onat the start of each half6 one child had no shin ads6 and two had them outside their socks.Our ref ut them straight 0this was the same team that our ref sto ed lay for last year whenthey had a child laying with a cast on his arm6 so her re utation has been cemented...2.8odi had a fairly 9uiet time in goals in the first half and )en el in the second. !he ball s entabout %1 of the time in our half6 but their goal defence was good and our shootingaccuracy was not so good. uite a few missed o ortunities6 erha s too much thoughtand not enough @ust booting it in.

&e had a full team of $* so + subs6 and we made good use of them to change around theositions6 trying to gi4e e4eryone some good time with the ball but also trying to strength out

defence and attack. &e changed our ositioning this week which meant our defenceworked in airs6 this worked well but robably needs a little more ractise.

-gain there were moments of brilliance and it is great to see the team work ha ening asthe communication le4el is lifted. !he score line didnLt reflect the 9uality of the game as8ygnet were better at taking and kee ing ossession of the ball6 running with the ball andgetting through the defenders.

!he team ha4e earned a week off in the ne7t round ILm sure they will all be eager to get outand ut some more goals on the board and see some more wins come their way. Of the fourteams we ha4e layed in the reliminary round6 three ha4e been beaten or should ha4ebeen beatable6 so we are keen to ha4e another crack at the two teams we lost to first timeu .

-fter our fantastic match with "riends the week before 0a thrilling , all draw2 I was warnedthat South Hobart were a formidable team by the "riends coach. &e were going into thegame in good s irits after a mi7ed training session6 albeit still carrying a few in@uries and some

layers returning from illness.&e set u almost identically as we had in the re4ious match6 we had managed such astrong start against "riends that I really wanted and knew the team needed to start well andset about South Hobart in a similar fashion6 if we were to get a result. Just as we had

re4iously6 we managed to get off to the flying start at home that I was ho ing for and wewere soon attacking South Hobart6 whilst kee ing it tight in defence. Our ositioning is reallycoming together and we are becoming a tight little unit 0who are ro4ing to be a tough nutto crack26 es ecially when we are on a full si e itch with only / layers..A -fter a great breakforward it seemed 9uite deser4ed that we went $ 5 % u when

team was e7ce tional. !here was only one team in my PbiasedL o inion that was going toget another goal6 so it wasn=t a sur rise when we did. -nother good break down the wingand a cool finish from olly in goal had a few heart sto ingmoments as a cleared ball assed slowly across an o en goal and end u as a goal kick.!here were a cou le of hits on the ost which rebounded outside of goal and not in. -ll themid5field ran and ran and fed the forward line but unfortunately we went into half time at %5%.- fair score for both sides.

Half time ga4e Ric a chance to drum into the girls the im ortance of kee ing ositions on thefield using a whiteboard to demonstrate.

!he second half started as the first but then the wheels fell off6 it was total confusion andalthough there was a cou le of attacks u front we conceeded three goals before the finalwhistle.

I still count this as a good game as these girls are on a 4ery stee learning cur4e and uagainst what can be called seasoned o onents. - bit more ractice and some shootingskills and the return matches will be a lot closer in the ne7t round.
