an opportunity to reduce the Pre-

cept demand for the forthcoming

financial year.

The level of reduction agreed

would offer a maintainable finan-

cial position for the Town Council

accounts.

We are pleased to

report that Abergele

Town Council has been

in the fortunate posi-

tion of being able to

reduce the precept

demand, the house-

hold contribution

based on a Band D

property will be £38.54 per an-

num, which is a further reduction

of .50 pence per household to add

to the 2014-2015 reduction of

around £1.24 per household.

Although this does not sound

much in real terms with the cost

of inflation being at an all-time

low of 0.5% (December 2014

figure) this is a further 1% re-

duction on the 3% saving of

2013-14 making an overall saving

of 4% per household.

The Town Council

will continue to

provide grants to

support Clubs,

Societies and

organisations

which are man-

aged by teams of

dedicated volunteers, and that

are available within the Aber-

gele Town Council area.

Abergele Town

Council met in

December

2014 to agree

a budget for

the forthcom-

ing financial

year.

This resulted in a reduction of the

Council’s precept demand.

The Estimates Committee as-

sessed the budget requirements

for the Town Council for the up-

coming year and also projected

further ahead to ensure that the

Council accounts would maintain

stability.

It was agreed that having accrued

sufficient funds to complete

planned projects, there was now

Once again the Civic Year is coming

to its end, how time flies when one

is engaged in duties that are a

pleasure to perform. We consider

it a very great honour to have held

the position of Mayor and Mayor-

ess of Abergele 2014/15. This has

given us the opportunity of renew-

ing old acquaintances and making

many new friends. We are deeply

grateful for all the help, support

and encouragement that we have

received along the way.

We have attended a tremendous

and varied programme of Civic en-

gagements on behalf of the town

and residents of Abergele, one of

the highlights being the dedication

of the Remembrance Tree at

Christmas to remember the fallen

of WW1.

We are celebrating the end of our

Civic Year with a Songs of Praise to

be held on April 24th at St

Michael’s Parish Church and we

would like to invite you all along to

what promises to be a lovely evening.

We would not have survived the year

without the dedication and exper-

tise of our Town Clerk, Mrs Mandy

Evans and her Officer Mrs Lorraine

Whalley to whom we are extremely

grateful. The assistance and support

of all the staff at Abergele Town

hall has been greatly appreciated by

us both. Once again, our sincere

thanks go to Rev Kate Johnson,

Mayor’s Chaplain, for her spiritual

support and guidance throughout the

year.

We would like to thank the Deputy

Mayor and Deputy Mayoress, Sam and

Natasha for their assistance during

our Civic Year and wish them every

success and happiness during their

term of office.

In conclusion, we would like to thank

you the people of Abergele, Pensarn,

Belgrano, Bodtegwel and St George

for all the support, friendship and

generosity you have shown us both.

It has been an honour and a privilege

to serve you once again as your Mayor

and Mayoress.

We wish you all a very happy Easter.

Neges y Maer

Fe fyddai lefel y lleihad y cytunwyd

arno'n caniatáu sefyllfa ariannol

gynaliadwy i gyfrifon Cyngor y Dref.

Rydym yn falch o adrodd bod Cyngor

Tref Abergele wedi bod yn y sefyll-

fa ffortunus o allu lleihau gofynion y

praesept.Cyfraniad cartref, wedi ei

seilio ar eiddo Band B, fydd £38.54

y flwyddyn, sydd yn lleihad

ychwanegol o 50 ceiniog y cartref,

yn ychwanegol i leihad 2014-2015 o

tua £1.24 y cartref.

Er nad yw hyn yn ymddangos yn llaw-

er mewn gwirionedd gyda graddfa

chwyddiant ar ei isaf erioed ar

0.5% (Rhagfyr 2014), mae o'n lleihad

ychwanegol o 1% ar arbediad 2013-

2014 o 3%, sy'n gwneud cyfanswm

arbediad o 4% y cartref

Fe fydd Cyngor y Dref yn parhau i

ddarparu cymorthdaliadau i gefnogi

clwbiau, cymdeithasau a sefydliadau

sy'n cael eu rheoli gan dimau o wir-

foddolwyr ymroddedig, ac sydd o

fewn dalgylch Cyngor Tref Abergele.

Fe gyfarfu

Cyngor Tref

Abergele ym

mis Rhagfyr

2014 i gytuno

ar gyllid ar

gyfer y

flwyddyn

ariannol ganlynol.

Canlyniad hyn oedd cwtogi ar ofynion

praesept y Cyngor.

Fe asesodd y Pwyllgor Amcangyfrifo

ofynion cyllid Cyngor y Dref ar gyfer

y flwyddyn i ddod, a hefyd ragweld

ymhellach ymlaen i ofalu y byddai

cyfrifon y Cyngor yn cadw'n sefyd-

log.

Cytunwyd bod cyfle'n awr, gan fod

cyllid digonol wedi ei grynhoi i

gwblhau prosiectau arfaethedig, i

leihau gofynion y praesept ar gyfer y

flwyddyn ariannol ganlynol.

ST.MICHAEL’S CHURCH—REFURBISHMENTS

There’s something happening at St Michael’s Parish Church!

From February 2015, the West end

interior of the church will be rede-

signed to include toilets, kitchen

and a coffee bar plus a second

floor in the existing vestry areas.

In the spring, you will see scaf-

folding surrounding the bell tower

as it is refurbished with

external and internal repointing,

paint and interior decoration.

During this time, the bell and the clock will not be working, so that the

mortar can dry and settle properly.

The bell frame will also be attended

to at this time. A

Heritage Lottery

Grant has been se-

cured to cover most

of the cost

of the bell tower project.

Once finished, the church will

be open, and more people will
