Assalamo 'alaykum.I first compiled "30 Days with the Names of Allah" in 2017 and made it availableon my previous blog (Islamic Bedtime Stories). This workbook is the secondinstalment: 30 MORE days and 30 MORE beautiful Names of Allah to learn about. I designed it to be a resource simple enough to be flexible: primary school agedchildren, older kids and even adults can benefit. It would be a good resource fornew Muslims. Each page features a different reflection questions at the end; these can beanswered briefly in the space available, used as writing prompts or provide auseful starter for meaningful conversations with the whole family, in sha'Allah. The texts of the proofs (ayaat and ahadeeth) are collected at the end, wherememorisation can be tracked. I initially conceived it to be completed in Ramadan (1 Name per day) but none ofthe activities in it are specific to Ramadan, so it can be used at any time. Where do the Names of Allah comefrom? Allah revealed them in the Qur’an ortaught them to the believers throughthe Prophet Muhammad (salla Allahu‘alayhi wa sallam).

Are the Names and Attributes of Allah real? YES. The words that Allah used to talkabout Himself must be understood withtheir normal meaning. They are not ametaphor (something that stands forsomething else) nor do they have a secret,hidden meaning.

Does this mean that Allah is like us insome way? NO. Allah is the Creator and He does notresemble the things He created in any way. He is Allah and there is nothing like Him.

Allah is the Invicible Masterwho subdues His creaturesfrom above, by means of thethings they are vulnerable to,such as illness, pain, povertyand death. Nobody can objectto His decree, nor change orrepel what Allah has ordained.The irresistible power thatAllah uses over His wholecreation is always according toHis Wisdom and Justice.

On the authority of Haani' Ibn Yazeed (radyAllahu 'anhu), the Prophet (salla Allahu

'alayhi wa sallam) asked about a nicknamethe people gave Haani' (they called him Abul-

Hakam), saying:

"Verily, Allah is the Ruler, and all rulings areHis right. So then why have you been

nicknamed Abul-Hakam?"
