A Maze ’N Things is a hard place to describe. It’s fun but challenging. It’s a theme park for adults as much as children. Our staff can tell you to get lost, and you thank them. You pay to go in for a look, but what you see is not what you get. Some things go up when they should go down. Some disappear and others just multiply. Sometimes it is hard to explain what makes this place so great, unless you have actually been and then you will keep coming back… we are now long established as a Phillip Island icon amongst regulars, locals and previous visitors who are now our True Believers.

We started back in early 1991 in a relatively small way, but after a series of renovations, extensions and ongoing improvements, A Maze’N Things is well respected and supported. As a previous runner up and winner of the Victorian Tourism Awards, and with over100,000 paying visitors each year, there is ample proof that even odd things are popular. The experience involves the fun and entertaining themes of Optical Illusions, mazes and problem solving …all done with a quirky grin and cheeky glint in the eye. Right from the moment you enter the property there are things that catch your eye and trick your brain. Starting with the Giant Flying Tap, Flooded House and even the world’s largest backwards clock you know you are in for an experience that is like no other.

You can get your head chopped off, be shrunk to half your size, get lost in the mirror maze or outdoor maze, fall off a cliff or zoom along on the flying boogie boards. All the time there will be a combination smile and quizzical look on your face. There is a long, long list of things to do, problems to solve and places to go. And at the end of it all, there is Puzzle Café, Gelato Shop and Lolly Shop to rest and take a breather. Get in touch with wildlife at Maru where you can pat and hand feed many of the animals. Your group will be guided by our park keeper right inside the koala area and can take advantage of the opportunity to pat a koala as they come eye to eye with it. Enjoy hand feeding and patting the kangaroos and wallabies, including rare albinos. See wombats, Tasmanian Devils, dingoes, talking parrots, snakes and more in the animal park. Pat a koala, cuddle a dingo or get wrapped up in a Python snake, it’s all possible during special ‘close encounters’ at Maru. KOALA CLOSE ENCOUNTER: Pat and hand feed a koala, as you enter a separate area where the koala is in a fork at eye level. DINGO ENCOUNTER: Pat and cuddle the dingoes as you meet them inside their enclosure. Pannys Amazing World of Chocolate is a fascinating, interactive and educational celebration of all things chocolate. Visitors move through a series of display spaces, each dedicated to a facet of chocolate, where they are invited to get “hands on” in the process. Chocolate in history, chocolate in advertising, chocolate in art and chocolate in play are all explored in this unique and wondrous world.

The chocolate factory can also be observed in action, with the entire production facility on full view with Pannys team creating chocolates non-stop. The self guided tour concludes with the opportunity to make your mark in chocolate on the Swirl machine and design your own combination of flavours using Pannys Amazing Chocolate Machine. With flavour combinations of milk, white or dark chocolate coatings and fillings that can consist of any and all combination of strawberry,cola, vegemite and wasabi, there is the chance to see if you have the flair to create a signature chocolate formula.

Pannys chocolate is glossy, firm and snaps crisply. It also tastes superb. His signature chocolate is a white truffle, a sample of which is given to each visitor as they enter the building. It is a milk chocolate bud with a soft and gently sweet filling that is difficult to describe, but impossible to forget. It is only after tasting one can you learn how skilled Panny is as a chocolatier.

There is an extensive range of chocolates, including Australian animals, children’s novelties, and 100’s of bars with soft and hard fillings. There are seasonal items at Easter, Christmas and Mothers Day, as well as rocky road, chocolate coated gingers and their famous frozen bananas dipped in hot chocolate. Also worth discovering is the selection of handmade chocolate truffles. A favourite for those in the know is a chilli infused truffle that starts sweetly and finishes in a warm, spicy sensation.

Friendly fishing instructors will teach you to catch rainbow trout in a picturesque tree-lined lake and the all-weather indoor “Rainforest Pool.” Take your catch with you or ask the chef to transform your trout into a magnificent meal.

If your group wishes to go fishing, our friendly staff are willing to help any inexperienced anglers. And of course we supply buckets, bait and top quality fishing rods for you to use. Your Seal Watching Cruise will take you on a journey out along PhillipIsland scenic Western Coastline, with the destination of Seal Rocks,Australia’s largest fur seal colony, only a few kilometres of the south-west tip of Phillip Island.
