Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) is a Public Charitable Trust

Student’s achievements:

DJS Skylark, consisting of students from Production and Mechanical Engineering successfullydesigned and manufactured an RC Aircraft and took part in the SAE Aero Design East competitionheld in Lakeland, Florida, USA from 3rd to 7th March, 2015. The team managed to finish 17th positionworldwide and 2nd from among Indian teams in the regular class, in its maiden year of participationin this competition. The team also held a 2 day workshop along with AerotriX, wherein they taught 95students from the college to build a basic RC Aircraft.

DJS Racing, the formula style Race Car Design team represented our college on an International levelat Formula Student Germany at Hockenheim F1 circuit. The competition was conducted by SAEinternational in towards the end of 2014. They were earlier placed 12th globally in the qualificationround. This event was organized by Audi, Volkswagen, Daimler, Porsche, BMW and Bosch amongothers.

DJS Cronos successfully designed and manufactured an ATV in the college and participated recentlyin the Baja Student India – National level Off-road Racing Competition conducted by SAE India incollaboration with TATA motors in January 2015.

“DJS Robotics and Automation Society (RAS)”, team participated in Robocon India 2015 hosted byMIT, Pune from 3rd March to 7th March, 2015. The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) isan Asian Oceanian College robot competition, in which a robot or a set of robots are given a task tocomplete within a given time frame. The theme for year 2015 was “ROBOMINTON: BADMINTONROBO-GAME”. This year, the country level competition was held at Balewadi Stadium at Pune.

Student’s achievements:

A team of 3 students from third year IT, namely, Lekhraj Varshney, Ashutosh Parekh and Nilay Shahhave been selected for the Asia Regional rounds of ACM ICPC programming contest held at IITKhargpur and Amritapuri University in December 2014. The team stood 57th and 79th at these sitesrounds.

Another team of TE Computer, namely, Sunny Patel, Rahul Shah and Kunal Sheth secured 34th rankin ACM ICPC programming contest held at Gwalior in December 2014.

Our technical team designed and fabricated a Flight Simulator, which allowed one to experiencebeing a pilot in an airplane cockpit, using a fully controllable motion platform built from scratch. Thisproject is the first of its kind as far design & fabrication are concerned, especially conceptualized andexecuted at an Engineering college level.

Kakshil Shah, student of B.E. IT has been awarded WWDC (World Wide DeveloperConference) 2015 Scholarship. To be considered for a WWDC 2015 Scholarship, he hasdeveloped an APP using creativity and coding skills and submitted to Apple Inc. Apple hasselected a total of 350 applicants from across the globe and Kakshil is one of them. He wasinvited to attend Apple World Wide Developer conference 2015 to be held at San Francisco, CA,USA (SFO) in June 2015 and his trip was fully sponsored by Apple.

Kunal R. Kukreja, a student of TE Computer Engineering stood 397th World Wide &12th inIndia at the Facebook Hacker Cup 2015.

A Team of four students of TE IT, Ankit Anchan, Sushant Tendulkar, Shantanu Kawlekar, Milit Betaiand Anish Nair won the 1st Prize, in the second round of the coding competition (CodeShastra)named as Hackethon, organized at IIT Bombay in Feb 2015.

Four students of Biomedical Engineering, Heli Vora, Hemang Trivedi, Gargi Sabnis and HardikaGanatra represented the University of Mumbai at Project Competition - Avishkar 2014-15 (InterUniversity Level) at Nagpur University and Animal Husbandry and Fishery from 21st to 23rd Jan 2015.

Nazia Noorani, a student of Biomedical Engineering secured 1st Position in Table Tennis (Girls) eventin Zest 15 held at College of Engineering Pune on 23rd Jan 2015.

Divyansh Srivastava and Nirmay Sanghvi of B.E. EXTC successfully cleared the written test forFulltime Research Assistant Position at Digital Audio Processing Laboratory, Department ofElectrical Engineering, IIT Bombay, Mumbai.

TE Students of Production Engineering bagged 1st prize in the Technical Paper Presentationcompetition held at Manipal University.

Team of four students of SE Computer Engineering, Monik Pameecha, Fatema Olia, Binoy Chitale,Sumedh Mohile secured 1st position in Codeshastra Competition organized by CSI on 25& 26 January,2015.

Lekhraj Varshney, a T.E. IT student was the winner in the Code Jaming Coding Competition heldat St. Xavier’s Institute of Engineering at Mahim on 6th Feb 2015.

Four students from Biomedical Engineering, Anmol Pardeshi, Mitul Parekh, Jaspreet Singh Nagi andVaikhari Marathe Won the First Prize in the Poster Competition for their paper “WEB BASEDRADIOLOGY VIEWER” for the Innovative Medical Device Idea at 12th National Conference andTechnology Exhibition on “Indian Medical Devices & Plastics Disposables/Implants Industry 2015,held at Ahmedabad from 9 - 10th January 2015.

Student’s achievements: In the same event another group of students from Biomedical Engineering, Ankita Harmalkar,

Shrutika Pradhan and Vedashree Rawalgaonkar Won the Second Prize (Sushruta InnovationAward) for their paper “Creatinine Albumin Reader” as the Most Innovative Medical DeviceIdea/Prototype.

Yash Jain, a T.E. IT sudent secured 1st rank at KJSCE Coding Challenge Organized by KJSCE-CODECELL on 14th March 2015.

Shaishav Gandhi, a T.E. IT student won the second prize in the Instrumental Wars Competitionheld at SPIT, Andheri on 27th Feb 2015.

Lekhraj Varshney and Ashutosh Parekh, students of T.E. (IT), secured 3rd rank at IntercollegiateMaths Quiz Organized by Don Bosco Institute of Technology on 28th March 2015.

Priya Singh and Anam Shah, students of SE Computer Engineering, secured 1st position in theTechnical paper presentation for their paper titled “Image Analysis using ANT colony Algorithm:Pictorial illustration about the status of region” at SNDT University.

Shyam Mehta, Chirag Jain, Paren Desai and Roshan Pande, students of SE Computer Engineeringdeveloped an online multiplayer game with artificial intelligence. This Game (App) is called UTTT-Ultimate TicTacToe and is uploaded in the playstore.

CSI has organized a programming event “CODESHASTRA” on 24th and 25th Jan 2015. 27 team (4 ineach) from various departments participated on both the days. Mr. Anirudha Choudhari, Co-Founder & Director at WonderBiz Technologies, Mr. Amit Upadhyay, VP Engineering atBrowserStack, Mr. Vinay Gaba, Business Technology Analyst at Deloitte U.S. India offices and Mr.Siddharth Naik, the Deputy Manager at Innovation Centre, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd were thementors for the event.

Jay Shah of Third Year has won the overall championship (mens) award at DJ Sanghvi Sports Meetheld on 16th January 2015.

Jay Shah of Third Year was the winner in 100 meter sprint (mens) at national level sports meet heldfrom 10th December to 30th December 2015 at VJTI, Matunga, Mumbai.
