Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for making time to join us as a trial volunteer for Concourse A, the world’s firstpurpose built A380 facility and the latest extension to Emirates Terminal 3.

Every gate is designed and built to accommodate the world's largest airliner.

The passenger trials in which you will take part aims to simulate the full operation of Concourse A. As we near the end of our testing and commissioning programme, we would

like your feedback prior to applying the finishing touches and opening for business.

Your online registration has been accepted and your trial details are as follows:

Trial Date Saturday, 15 December 2012

Start Time Registration at 11.30am

End TimeTrial finish time between 2pm and 4pm depending on your

specific trial instructions.

Location

Dubai International, Terminal 3, Departures level, Zone C (car

park check-in which is accessed from Level 2 in the Terminal 3

car park). Please follow the signage to the registration point.

Staff will also be on hand to direct you.

Travel to

airport

Free parking will be provided in the Terminal 3 car park – all

volunteers will be presented with a stamped exit ticket.

Volunteers are also encouraged to use the metro. Your stop is

the Terminal 3 metro station.

RefreshmentsEach volunteer will be presented with a voucher that can be

used at specific food and beverage outlets in Concourse A.

Reward

Each volunteer will be entitled to a 10% discount at specific

Dubai Duty Free stores (which will be clearly identified) and will

be available upon presentation of your airport pass. Please take

time at the end of your trial to do your shopping. Due to legal

requirements, you will not be able to buy alcohol and tobacco

products.

At the end of the trial you will also be given a gift bag filled with

memorabilia.

On arrival you will be requested to register at the designated registration desk where you

will be presented with your airport pass, meal voucher and trial instruction script to role play

for the day. Please bring your registration number which will be used to identify your pass. If

you no longer have your registration number, it can be found by logging on todubaiairport.com/trials. Please also bring some carry-on luggage.





You will also receive an armband which must be worn at all times. This will allow the Dubai

Airports’ trial team to track your progress through the airport and also identify you as trial

volunteer.

Before the trial begins you will be given a safety briefing and a quick summary of what is

expected from you. Essentially you will be asked to follow the instructions on your script and

act as a real-live passenger for the day.

At the end of the trial you will be asked to record your experience and comments on the

back of your trial instruction script. Please be honest as your feedback will allow us to

resolve problem areas before we open up for business.

As soon as you complete and handover your feedback sheet and return your airport pass

you will be given your gift bag as a memento of your day. You must then proceed to the car

park exit stamp desk (next to the gift bag station) to get your car park entry ticket stamped

and validated to allow free exit from the car park.

At any time inside the terminal buildings there will be marshals available to answer any

questions or if you need help. The marshals will be wearing a green armband and an ORAT

Trials vest.

Lastly, we have attached a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s) below. Please

ensure you read these before you arrive on Saturday.

Specific Instructions:

Please make a note of the volunteer number found in the email confirmation sent to you.

Please bring a valid photo ID (Passport, UAE resident card or driver’s licence) Some parts of Concourse A are still in the final phases of fit-out. Please make a note of the

safety do’s & don’ts appended to the back of your script as well as below.

FAQ’s

Do I need my passport on the day?

Yes, it is recommended you bring your passport for identification purposes when issuing the

airport pass to you on the day of the trial.

Can I bring my camera or laptop?Unfortunately cameras, tablets, laptops or other electronic will not be allowed during the

trials for security reasons.

Can I bring my mobile phone?

Yes, but for safety reasons and to ensure the timely completion of the trial, we ask that you

do not take photos during the trials. An opportunity for photos will be provided at the end of

the day.

Do I have to pay an entrance fee?

No, there will be no entrance fees.

Do I have to pay for parking?

No, parking will be free.

Will I be rewarded with anything?

Each volunteer will be provided with a gift bag of memorabilia as well as a 10 per cent

discount on selected items at selected Dubai Duty Free outlets in Terminal 3 and Concourse

A.

Will we be flying anywhere?

No. You will remain in the terminal buildings only.

Will there be any medical or first aid facilities?

Yes, there will be several medical facilities throughout Terminal 3 and Concourse A. There

will also be experienced doctors and medical staff on site.

Will the restaurants be open?

Yes, some of the new food and beverage outlets in Concourse A will be open.





Will there be any dedicated smoking areas?

No, there are no smoking areas inside the concourse. However once you are outside the

passenger-controlled area and have completed the trial, there will be the regular dedicatedsmoking areas outside Terminal 3.

Will there be toilets?

Yes, there are toilets all over Terminal 3 and Concourse A.

What kind of clothing should I wear?

We recommend you wear something comfortable.

Safety Do’s and Don’t

1. Please don’t bring cameras, laptops or electronic devices (mobile phones are permitted

but please do not take any photographs). Pets will also not be permitted.

2. As you will be passing through a number of airport security points please don’t bring

liquids of more than 100ml as well as any prohibited items such as sharp items or

knives.3. Please don’t give or receive any item from any travelling passengers. It’s a normal day at

the airport.

4. Please take care of your airport pass and remember to hand it back at the end of the

trial. Keep the pass visible and show it to security staff when asked.

5. Please follow your scripts and its instructions. Please don’t enter any fenced or secured

area as finishing work is ongoing in Concourse A.

6. If lost, contact a trial marshal identified by their green armbands and ORAT safety vests.

7. No smoking is permitted at any time anywhere in the airport other than in designated

areas.

8. Please take care of children at all times. Don’t let them play with any equipment or

wander off. If a child is missing, alert a Dubai Airports staff member.

9. For medical emergencies call +971 4 504 5000

10. In case of a fire alarm, follow the instructions and signs. No fire alarm tests are planned

as part of the trial. If in doubt please contact a trial marshal.

11. Please be aware there are restrictions on the type of items that can be purchased by trail

volunteers at Dubai Duty Free. No cigarettes, alcohol and DVDs may be purchased.





12. Please take care when moving around the building and when using lifts and escalators.

13. Please do not make purchases at Dubai Duty Free for other people who are not trial

volunteers.

14. Please note you will need to leave the passenger controlled area of the airport before

4pm.

15. If you have lost any item of personal property please contact a Dubai Airports staff

member or report it at the end of the trial.

16. Please help us keep our airport clean and tidy by disposing of rubbish in a responsible

manner.
