The DAAD Information Center (IC) Amman was founded on Sep-tember 1st, 2012.
It serves as the local liaison office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and provides amongst others informa-tion for students and academic staff about studying and doing research in Germany - including research funding opportunities in the form of scholarships and other programs.
Furthermore, it collaborates closely with Jordanian universities and supports projects and programs of higher education partner-ships between the two countries.
Good Reasons to Study in Germany
More than 380 German universities enjoy an excellent repu-tation throughout the world and offer a diverse range of study opportunities (with some 1600 programmes in Eng-lish). Due to the outstanding high quality of academic edu-cation and the close link between theory and practice, stud-ying or doing research in Germany is a very enriching experience - both on a professional and on a personal level.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the larg-est funding organisation in the world supporting the inter-national exchange of students and scholars. DAAD is the German national agency for the support of international academic cooperation.
Since its foundation in 1925, more than 1.5 million scholars in Germany and abroad have received DAAD funding. It is a registered association and its members are German institu-tions of higher education and student bodies.
Its budget is derived mainly from the federal funding of var-ious ministries, primarily the German Federal Foreign Office but also from the European Union and a number of enter-prises, organisations and foreign governments. Its head office is located in Bonn and it currently maintains a net-work of 14 branches and 50 Information Centers world wide.
Its activities go far beyond simply awarding grants and scholarships:
The DAAD also supports the internationalisation of German universities, promotes German studies and the German lan-guage abroad, assists developing countries in establishing effective universities and advises decision makers on mat-ters of cultural, education and development policy.
