daddy’s girls/mummy’s boys

Daddy’s Girls/Mummy’s Boys Are familiar with the old saying the boys are daddy’s boys and girls are mummy’s boys? Is this statement true in your household? Would you agree that little girls are capable of wrapping daddy round their little fingers and that boys would turn to mummy first for hugs and kisses. Or do you believe that children shouldn’t be gender stereotyped and that society is wrong to say that a child is capable of favouring one parent more than the other? Either way, this is a controversial subject and we were intrigued to hear about what parents thought regarding this subject, so we asked our Facebook community the following question” Is the saying true that girls are ‘Daddy's girls’ and boys are ‘Mummy's boys’? What have you found with your own children?” and we were absolutely overwhelmed by the response and here are just a few of our favourite comments. The mother-in-law There are many stereotypes surrounding our good old mother in law’s and the following comment sure didn’t hold back! “I know one thing, don’t ever marry a mummy's boy .... Because your end up marrying her too.” “Is your mother-in-law that bad? Does she still treat your husband/boyfriend/fiancé like she did 25 years ago? Daddy can’t say no Many of the people who responded (and yes that did include some daddies) agreed that men find it harder to say no and that they believed that children (especially girls) were very aware of this. They also agreed that little girls know exactly what to say when they want something. A bit of both A few people who responded to our question said that they found it difficult to determine if their kids were “mummy’s boys” or “daddy’s girls” as their children alternated regularly. Here’s one comment that we found to be particularly interesting “My kids change all the time so I would have to say they are equally mummies and daddies. They go a month of being all about daddy and then they will all be about mummy” 100% Mummy’s boys There were a few people who agreed that their sons may as well have never had their umbilical cords cut and that girls will only ever turn to their daddy, unless its dinner time and then everyone will turn to mummy. These are just a few of the responses that we received; it would be interesting to hear what the rest of the parenting population thought about this. Please leave a comment below letting us know where you stand when it comes down to “mummy’s boys and daddy’s girls”. Thank you for reading!

Daddy’s Girls/Mummy’s Boys

Are familiar with the old saying the boys are daddy’s boys and girls are mummy’s boys? Is

this statement true in your household? Would you agree that little girls are capable of

wrapping daddy round their little fingers and that boys would turn to mummy first for hugs

and kisses.

Or do you believe that children shouldn’t be gender stereotyped and that society is wrong to

say that a child is capable of favouring one parent more than the other?

Either way, this is a controversial subject and we were intrigued to hear about what parents

thought regarding this subject, so we asked our Facebook community the following question”

Is the saying true that girls are ‘Daddy's girls’ and boys are ‘Mummy's boys’? What have you

found with your own children?” and we were absolutely overwhelmed by the response and

here are just a few of our favourite comments.

The mother-in-law There are many stereotypes surrounding our good old mother in law’s and the following

comment sure didn’t hold back! “I know one thing, don’t ever marry a mummy's boy ....

Because your end up marrying her too.” “Is your mother-in-law that bad? Does she still treat

your husband/boyfriend/fiancé like she did 25 years ago?

Daddy can’t say no Many of the people who responded (and yes that did include some daddies) agreed that men

find it harder to say no and that they believed that children (especially girls) were very aware

of this. They also agreed that little girls know exactly what to say when they want something.

A bit of both A few people who responded to our question said that they found it difficult to determine if

their kids were “mummy’s boys” or “daddy’s girls” as their children alternated regularly.

Here’s one comment that we found to be particularly interesting “My kids change all the time

so I would have to say they are equally mummies and daddies. They go a month of being all

about daddy and then they will all be about mummy”

100% Mummy’s boys There were a few people who agreed that their sons may as well have never had their

umbilical cords cut and that girls will only ever turn to their daddy, unless its dinner time and

then everyone will turn to mummy.

These are just a few of the responses that we received; it would be interesting to hear what

the rest of the parenting population thought about this. Please leave a comment below letting

us know where you stand when it comes down to “mummy’s boys and daddy’s girls”.
