    THEME: ARE YOU BORNAGAIN?

The key which unlocks all the promises ofGod is this Jesus taught that a man mustbornagain. The following statement came fromthe lips of Jesus:

Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John3:3). Except a man be born ofwater and of the Spirit, he can notenter into the kingdom of God. [John3:5].

Except ye be converted, and becomeas little children, ye shall not enterinto the kingdom of heaven [Matt18:3].

Except ye repent. Ye shall all

likewise perish [Luke 13:3, 5].The New Birth is a necessity to beingsaved. Through the New Birth you comeinto the right relationship to God. The Newis necessary before you can claim any ofthe benefits of the Bible.

The New Birth is not : confirmation church membership- water baptism- thetaking of sacraments- observing religiousduties- an intellectual reception ofChristianity orthodoxy of faith- going tochurch- saying prayers reading the biblebeing moral being cultured or refined-

doing good deeds- doing your best norany of the many other things some menare trusting in to save them.

Nicodemous, whom Jesus addressedconcerning the New Birth, possessed mostof the qualities we just listed, but Jesussaid to Him, Ye must be born again[ John 3:7].

The thief on the cross, and others Jesusforgave while on the earth, were savedwithout these things they accepted Jesus

Christ as personal savior by repenting andturning to God with the whole heart as alittle child. One who is born again willautomatically have the external evidencesof good life by virtue of the New Birth. Butthere are millions,

it is sad to say, who are trusting in goodworks to save them. And millions will dieand be lost withoutthe New Birth because they have beenmislead concerning the experience ofbeing born again.

It is all important that we pay personalattention to our eternal welfare and thatwe not trust the best of men in the matter. If we permit men to mislead us in eternalmatters and are lost it will be too late topersonally see after our welfare. Dosomething about it now.

Dont take the attitude that you cannot bedeceived. Dont take the attitude that yourchurch is the only right one and that it cannot mislead you. You church may be rightin its teaching concerning the New Birth. But make certain by going to the bibleyourself, and seeing with your own eyes, and knowing with your own heart thatyour are right with God that you havethe real New Birth and that you are livingright with God every day.

There is not purpose served in foolingyourself You are either born again oryou are not. You are really saved or youare being deceived into thinking you are,and you are lost.

You know your own life and your truerelationship to God. So get the factssettled that you are a genuinely savedperson, and in present contact with God.

Culture, refinement, and outwardcorrectness of life in the organizedchurch or out of it- cannot take the placeof the New Birth. For the trouble you see,is in the heart.

Jesus Said. For from within, out of theheart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murder, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness; allthese evil things come from within, and defile the man[ Mark 7:21-23].

The trouble is in the heart the inward man,the spirit. Merely to reform the outwardman or the outward life will not save you.An artist could put a beautifully coloredcoating of wax on the outside of a rottenapple but the apple would still be rottenat heart. One bite into it would be a biteinto decay. Out of Christ, every man is

rotten in the heart. And mere outwardcorrectness of life apart from Christ, itartificial and the practice of hypocrites. And Jesus said to those he calledHypocrites . For ye are like into thewhited sepultures, which indeedappear beautiful outward, but arewithin full of dead mens bones andof all uncleanness (Matt. 23:27).
