Army holds medical camp

SRINAGAR, May 31: Armyhas organized a medical campat Army Goodwill School inPartappur in Nubra Valley inLeh.
A defence spokesman saidSiachen Army Hospital of theFire and Fury Corps and CivilAdministration alongwith theMeiktila Gunners battalionorganised the camp as part ofOperation Sadbhavana.
Five Indian Army doctorsprovided medical treatment atthe camp to the local peoplewho attended it.

National Panthers Party (NPP)held a demonstration againstunscheduled curtailment of elec-tricity in the town. The protestwas organized by State presidentand MLA Udhampur BalwantSingh Mankotia against PowerDevelopment Department (PDD).
The demonstrators sat outsidethe office of Executive EngineerElectrical M&RE Division,Udhampur and blocked the traf-fic on road opposite MiniStadium, Udhampur for morethan two hours. A large numberof workers of National Panthersand Sarpanchs and Panchs partic-ipated in protest.
They raised the slogansagainst State Government par-ticularly Chief Minister, OmarAbdullah. Addressing the largegathering NPP State presidentand MLA Udhampur , BalwantSingh Mankotia said that about15 days back authorities

The workshop was con-ducted under the aegis ofJKOA and Dr O N Nagi, for-mer Prof and HeadOrthopedics PGIMER,Chandigarh and presentlyworking as Director JointReplacement Centre, SirGanga Ram Hospital, Delhi. Alive joint replacement surgerywas also performed during theworkshop. Dr Rajesh KumarGupta, Head OrthopaedicsASCOMS said though thesesurgeries are regularly per-formed here but this academicactivity is performed toenhance the knowledge of theorthopedics.

A police spokesperson saidthe joint residential house ofGhulam Qadir Dobi,Mohammad Ramzan Dobi andMohammad Ismail Dobi sons ofGhulam Mohammad Dobi ofDobi Mohallah Panzalpora,Shalimar was partially dam-aged.
The residential house ofBashir Ahmed Dar son ofAssadullah Dar of SahllporaAllochibagh, Srinagar, was alsopartially damaged.
A cosmetic shop of ShowketAhmed Mir son of GhulamRasool Mir was partially dam-aged in Lalpora in NorthKashmir's Kupwara district.

AAP activists protest, demandrepair of bridge

HIRANAGAR, May 31: AamAadmi Party (AAP), unitHiranagar held a rally at ChadwalMore and took out a march underthe leadership of I D Khajuria sen-ior leader AAP towards the bridgeover river Tarnah and demandedits immediate repairs.
The protesters said that thebridge has been damaged and ithas become a cause of fatal acci-dents as dozens of people have losttheir lives after meeting accidentson this killer bridge.
The workers of the Party alsostarted 24 hour hunger strike underthe leadership of B L Kandley andRam Pal Sharma. The protesterssaid that National Highway author-ities have failed to repair the bridgedespite the repeated pleas.
