A defence spokesman said Siachen Army Hospital of the Fire and Fury Corps and Civil Administration alongwith the Meiktila Gunners battalion organised the camp as part of Operation Sadbhavana. Five Indian Army doctors provided medical treatment at the camp to the local people who attended it. Demonstration held against PDD Excelsior Correspondent UDHAMPUR, May 31: National Panthers Party (NPP) held a demonstration against unscheduled curtailment of elec- tricity in the town. The protest was organized by State president and MLA Udhampur Balwant Singh Mankotia against Power Development Department (PDD). The demonstrators sat outside the office of Executive Engineer Electrical M&RE Division, Udhampur and blocked the traf- fic on road opposite Mini Stadium, Udhampur for more than two hours. A large number of workers of National Panthers and Sarpanchs and Panchs partic- ipated in protest. They raised the slogans against State Government par- ticularly Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah. AAP activists protest, demand repair of bridge Excelsior Correspondent HIRANAGAR, May 31: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), unit Hiranagar held a rally at Chadwal More and took out a march under the leadership of I D Khajuria sen- ior leader AAP towards the bridge over river Tarnah and demanded its immediate repairs. The protesters said that the bridge has been damaged and it has become a cause of fatal acci- dents as dozens of people have lost their lives after meeting accidents on this killer bridge. The workers of the Party also started 24 hour hunger strike under the leadership of B L Kandley and Ram Pal Sharma. The protesters said that National Highway author- ities have failed to repair the bridge despite the repeated pleas.
