Ghagwal police rescues

SAMBA, Dec 19: A policeparty of Police Station Ghagwalled by S I Rajeshwar Singh,SHO Ghagwal under closesupervision of Deepak Digra,Dy SP Headquarters, Sambaduring vehicle checking at NakaTapyal rescued 14 bovine ani-mals which were laden in twovehicles bearing registrationnumber JK02AC-2576 &JK08C-6513 which were com-ing from Kathua side.
As per reports the drivers oftwo vehicles after seeing thepolice accelerated the speed ofthe vehicles and tried to flee butpolice chased them and thedrivers seeing no alternativeabandoned the vehicles atChadwal and fled.
During the checking of vehi-cles police found 14 bovineswere laden in them and theywere being transported illegally.
The police seized both thevehicles and bovine animals. Italso registered a case FIR No106 of 2017 U/S 188 RPC, 23PCA Act, 179/183/184 MV Actwas registered at P/S Ghagwaland investigation taken up.
The drive against the bovinesmuggling was launched underthe directives of SSP Samba,Anil Magotra.
Tour of Doda studentsto Chennai flagged in

JAMMU, Dec 19: A nine-day capacity building tour ofstudents from Doda district toOfficers Training Academy,Chennai (OTA) was flagged inat Dharmund today.
The tour comprised of 34students and four teachers fromfar flung villages of Doda dis-trict.
The tour gave these studentsan exposure to meticulous andillustrious military life and hasencouraged students to imbibebest of the virtues including dis-cipline, punctuality, integrity andpatriotism in their personal life.
The tour members also visit-ed Raj Bhawan and got anopportunity to have an audiencewith the Governor of TamilNadu. Students were also takenfor sight-seeing of Chennai Cityand the famous Marina Beach towitness the cultural heritage ofChennai.
During the impressive flag-ging in ceremony at Dharmund,General-Officer-Commanding
of the Army interacted with thestudents and further motivatedthem to pursue their studies andtake up carrier choices in theIndian Army for a bright future.

JAMMU, Dec 19: The 273rdMaha Jayanti of SwamiMirzakak popularly known as“Kak Saab” was celebrated withreligious fervour and gaiety athis Nagrota Asthapan today.
A large number of devoteesdrawn from different parts ofJammu and migrant township ofJagti and Nagrota thronged theAshram to pay their obeisance tothis mystic saint of medievalKashmir.
A Maha Yagya was alsosolminized in the Asthapanpremises for world peace andbrotherhood on the occasion andinvoking the blessings of theParam Guru by his devotees.
The Maha Yagya started yes-terday evening and it concludedwith Puranahuti this afternoon
which was followed by servingof Prasad to the devotees.
The function was organizedby Swami Mirzakak TrustHangalgund, Kokernag (Kmr)under the presidentship ofBushan Lal Hangloo.
Earlier a pooja -archana washeld at the Asthapan that is thereplica of original Samadhi ofSwami Ji which is situated atHangalgund. The religiousscholars gave discourses onteachings of Swami Ji who hasperformed many prophecies dur-ing his life time and also hadspelled a doom for the tyrantAfghan rules who had to quitKashmir and this is reflected inhis Waakhs also.
They said Swami Ji contin-ued the Waakh Parampara inKashmir which had their originin Shaiva philosophy. He was a
great mystic saint who lived asimple life and devoted himselffor the benefit of humanity andsufferers.
Distt administrationremoves encroachments

KATHUA, Dec 19: TheDeputy Commissioner Kathua,Rohit Khajuria issued direc-tives of launching antiencroachment drive in front ofDC office, Kathua to removethe temporary encroachmentmade on the foot path.
The vehicles parked on NoParking Zone were alsoremoved from the foot path andthe road. The DeputyCommissioner, personally mon-itored the anti encroachmentdrive and ADC, ACR, Tehsildarand SHO Kathua along withpolice team and Traffic Policestarted the anti encroachmenton DC office road . The TrafficPolice was asked not to allowany person to park their vehi-
cles on the road.The DC Kathua said that an
order in this connection alreadyissued not to park the vehicle atno parking zone, otherwiselegal action may be takenagainst the offenders. He saidthe parking points also identi-fied at College road for parkingof the vehicles.
The Municipal CouncilKathua also removed the illegalencroachment made on footpathat Patel Nagar area and demol-ished the construction made onit . It is mentioned here that theDC office road is declared as noparking zone. But the peoplewould like to park their vehi-cles on the road. Even the pas-sengers vehicles stopping infront of DC office cause thetraffic jam and hazardous con-dition. The Traffic Police didnot bother to takes any actionagainst the offenders.

Cop’s parked carcatches fire

POONCH, Dec 19: A pri-vate car caught fire in theMendhar town in districtPoonch this afternoon.
Official sources said thatIndica car bearing registrationNo. PB08AS/4420, belongingto a Police Constable, AbdulQadeer, deployed as PSO withlocal PDP leader MohdMahroof, was parked on theroad side at Hakim Morh inMendhar town. It suddenlycaught fire at around 12.30 pm.
The people immediatelyremoved the adjoining vehiclesimmediately, parked near by theburning car and started pouringwater but the fire could not becontrolled.
The Fire tender arrived thereafter some time but the vehiclehad already been damagedbadly in the fire. The owner hasclaimed some sabotage as thecar was parked and not movingat that time. The police has reg-istered a case in this connection.

As per police sources, twowomen were injured, when theAlto car bearing registrationnumber JK02AS-3070 theywere travelling in collided witha mini-bus JK06-0526 comingfrom opposite direction at Hastiarea on Kishtwar-Doda-Batotehighway.
The injured identified asPushpa Bhandari (50), wife oflate Kishori Lal and SonamBhandari (24), wife of SunnyBhandari, both residents of dis-trict Kishtwar were rushed toDistrict Hospital, where theircondition was stated to be sta-ble, when last reports came in.
