He recorded eight as a rookie in 2018-19, breaking Magic Johnson’s previous such record of seven, which was set before the Mavericks franchise was even formed in 1980 (Johnson’s record had stood since 3/30/80). Dončić’s eight triple-doubles in 2018-19 not only marked a Dallas rookie record (previous most: 4 by Jason Kidd in 1994-95), but also represented the third-most by any rookie in the history of the league (behind Oscar Robertson’s 26 in 1960-61 and Ben Simmons’ 12 in 2017-18). Dončić’s eight triple-doubles in 2018-19 were also one off of Jason Kidd’s record for the most by a Maverick in any one season in franchise history (Kidd had 9 as a second-year player for Dallas in 1995-96). DIRTY, KP AND KAT: Former Mavericks great Dirk Nowitzki helped revolutionize the power forward position with his perimeter shooting. In 2000-01, Nowitzki became the first player in NBA history, age 22-or-younger, to record at least 100 threes and 100 blocks in a season (he hit 151 triples and blocked 101 shots as a third-year player for Dallas in 2000-01). At the time, Nowitzki became just the second player in league history (regardless of age) to tally at least 100 trifectas and 100 rejections in a season (Robert Horry, who made 142 3s and blocked 109 shots as a 25-year-old for Houston in 1995-96, was the other). Even with the game changing and big men taking more outside shots, there have been only two other players, age 22-or-younger, to go for 100-plus threes and 100-plus blocks in a season since Nowitzki first achieved the feat. Kristaps Porzingis, who the Mavericks acquired on 1/31/19, is one of them, while Karl-Anthony Towns is the other. At age 21, the 7-3 Porzingis made 112 3-pointers and recorded 129 blocks for the Knicks in 2016-17 (in his 2nd NBA season). Towns accomplished the feat twice, in his second (2016-17) and third (2017-18) seasons for the Timberwolves (at ages 21 and 22). However, Nowitzki and Towns both played in all 82 games the years they went for 100-100, while Porzingis did it in just 66 games in 2016-17.

MAVERICKS TO FACE PISTONS IN MEXICO CITY: The Mavericks will face the Pistons in Mexico City on 12/12/19. It will mark the third time in team history that Dallas will play a regular-season game outside of the U.S. or Canada. Houston defeated Dallas 108-106 in Mexico City on 12/6/97, in what was the first NBA regular-season game held in Latin America. A, B, C, D … WRIGHT: This past offseason, Dallas traded for former University of Utah standout Delon Wright. When the newly-acquired guard makes his regular-season debut for the Mavericks, Dallas will have had an A-Wright (Antoine), B-Wright (Brandan), C-Wright (Chris) and D-Wright (Delon) all appear in at least one game for the franchise. Coincidently, all four of those “Wrights” will have made their Mavericks debut in chronological order (Antoine first appeared for Dallas in 2007-08, Brandan in 2011-12, and Chris in 2012-13). HOW THE ROSTER WAS BUILT: The post-Dirk Nowitzki era began for Dallas this past summer after the big German announced that the 2018-19 season would be his last. The Mavericks went into the offseason looking to build around the reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, Luka Dončić, by adding some pieces via the draft and free agency. On the night of the 2019 NBA Draft, Dallas originally selected guard Deividas Sirvydis with the 37th overall pick, but later traded his draft rights to Detroit in exchange for the draft rights to former Nebraska forward Isaiah Roby and two future second-round picks. When free agency began on 7/6/19, the Mavericks signed forward/center Dwight Powell to a contract extension, after the former Stanford standout averaged a career-high 10.6 points per game for Dallas this past season. On 7/8/19, the Mavericks acquired guard Delon Wright from Memphis in exchange for two future second-round draft picks and the draft rights to Satnam Singh. On 7/10/19, Dallas signed free agent Seth Curry, bringing back the former Duke guard for his second stint with the Mavericks (Curry averaged a career-high 12.8 ppg for Dallas in 2016-17). That same day (7/10/19), the Mavericks re-signed forward Maxi Kleber, after the German led Dallas in blocks (78) and blocks per game (1.10) last season. On 7/11/19, the Mavericks re-signed forward Dorian Finney-Smith, after the former Florida Gator led Dallas in games played for the second time in his first three professional seasons (he played in a team-high 81 games in both 2016-17 and 2018-19). On 7/12/19, Dallas signed 7-foot-3 forward/center Kristaps Porzingis, who was acquired by the Mavericks from the Knicks on 1/31/19 (Porzingis missed the entire 2018-19 season recovering from left knee surgery). By acquiring the Latvian-born Porzingis, the fourth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, and pairing him with the Slovenian-born Dončić, who was drafted third overall in 2018, the Mavericks put together a roster that featured two of the seven international players ever taken in the top 4 of drafts (that list, which also includes Pau Gasol, Yao Ming, Darko Miličić, Andrea Bargnani and Dragan Bender, excludes foreign-born players who played high school or college basketball in the U.S.). On 7/23/19, Dallas signed 7-foot-4 center Boban Marjanović, giving the Mavericks two players 7-3 or taller. On 7/25/19, Dallas signed guard/forward Antonius Cleveland to a two-way contract, after he averaged 16.0 ppg (second on the team) for the Mavericks’ 2019 summer league squad. Cleveland, who appeared in 13 games for Dallas as a rookie in 2017-18, also returns for his second stint with the Mavericks. On 7/29/19, Dallas signed undrafted guard Josh Reaves, who was another standout on Dallas’ 2019 summer league team. On 8/19/19, the Mavericks re-signed guard J.J. Barea, who enters the 2019-20 campaign tied with Devin Harris for seventh place on the franchise’s all-time games played list with 608 (Barea is returning from right Achilles surgery). The roster currently stands at 17 players. Of the 17, four are in their first season with Dallas (Marjanović, Reaves, Roby and Wright). Three are in their second stint with Dallas (Barea, Cleveland and Curry). Barea, who was a member of the Mavericks’ 2011 title team, is the only player with NBA championship experience. The 6-7 Slovenian also became the first international player who did not attend a U.S. high school or college to garner the award since Spain’s Pau Gasol won it for Memphis in 2001-02. Dončić received 98 of 100 first-place votes for the award from a global panel of sportswriters and broadcasters. DONČIĆ’S TRIPLE-DOUBLE TOTAL IN 2018-19: Luka Dončić, who turned 20 on Feb. 28, recorded eight triple-doubles in 2018-19 – the most by a Dallas rookie in team history. Prior to Dončić, Jason Kidd held the Mavericks rookie record for triple-doubles with four in 1994-95. Dončić’s eight triple-doubles were also the second-most by a Dallas player in any one season in club history. Kidd, who had nine triple-doubles in 1995-96, is the only Maverick to record more in any one year. The Slovenian’s eight triple-doubles marked the third-most by a rookie in league history. Oscar Robertson holds the NBA rookie record with 26 in 1960-61, while Ben Simmons ranks second with 12 in 2017-18. Dončić’s eight triple-doubles in 2018-19 set the NBA record for the most by a player before his 21st birthday in NBA history. Magic Johnson, who recorded seven triple-doubles before turning 21, held the previous such record. Four of Dončić’s eight career triple-doubles this season occurred before his 20th birthday (he has four of the five triple-doubles ever recorded by a teenager in NBA history). All four of those came in a 12-game stretch from 1/21-2/25/19. After going for 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists at Milwaukee 1/21/19, he went for 35-12-10 vs. Toronto on 1/27/19, 19-10-11 vs. Charlotte on 2/6/19 and 28-10-10 at the L.A. Clippers on 2/25/19. Markelle Fultz, who registered 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Milwaukee on 4/11/18 (at 19 years, 317 days), is the only other player in league history to produce a triple-double before the age of 20 (Fultz was 10 days younger than Dončić at the time of his first career triple-double). The former EuroLeague MVP (19 years, 343 days) broke Magic Johnson’s record for the youngest player to three career triple-doubles in NBA history (Johnson had three through 20 years, 94 days). DONČIĆ RECORDS TWO 35-10-5 GAMES AS TEENAGER: After going for a career-high (game-high) 35 points, a game-high 12 rebounds and a game-high 10 assists in 36 minutes against Toronto on 1/27/19, Mavericks rookie Luka Dončić poured in a career-high-tying 35 points, a team-high 11 rebounds and a game-high six assists in 33 minutes at Cleveland on 2/2/19. Dončić, who didn’t turn 20 until Feb. 28, became the first player in NBA history to record multiple 35-point, 10-rebound, 5-assist games as a teenager. What’s more, both of his 35-10-5 efforts occurred in the same week (he went for 35-10-5 twice in a three-game span). DONČIĆ PARTICIPATES IN SKILLS CHALLENGE: Mavericks rookie guard/forward Luka Dončić took part in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge as part of 2019 State Farm® All-Star Saturday Night. Dallas also recorded 25 assists at Utah (2/23/19), marking its highest assist/turnover ratio (8.33) in a game in team history. On 3/16/19 vs. Cleveland, the Mavericks handed out 32 assists while recording just five giveaways against the Cavaliers. It marked the first time in club history that the Mavericks dished out 30-plus assists while committing five-or-fewer turnovers in a game. It also marked the fourth-highest assist/turnover ratio (6.40) in a game in franchise history. MAVS SCORE FRANCHISE-HIGH 84 BENCH POINTS IN OT WIN AT MEMPHIS: The Mavericks’ bench outscored the Grizzlies’ bench, 84-35, in their 129-127 overtime win at FedExForum on 4/7/19. In 116 career collegiate games (115 starts) at Villanova, Brunson’s highest-scoring effort was 31 points (four times). Brunson scored in double figures in a career-high 15 consecutive games from 3/4-4/1/19. During that 15-game run, he averaged 15.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 30.1 minutes per game. He shot 55.4 percent (92-166 FGs) from the field, 37.5 percent (21-56 3FGs) from beyond the arc and 80 percent (32-40 FTs) from the charity stripe in that stretch (3/4-4/1/19). POWELL’S POST ALL-STAR BREAK PROGRESSION: Mavericks center Dwight Powell had a tremendous post All-Star break in 2018-19. He scored 20-plus points seven times after the break (including five times in his first 10 games following the break), after he failed to hit 20 in each of his 53 games before the break. In fact, Powell scored 20 just four times in his first four seasons combined (once in 2016-17 and 3 times in 2017-18) prior to his monster second half in 2018-19. Five of Powell’s seven double-digit rebounding efforts in 2018-19 also occurred after the break. The fifth-year big man scored in double figures in a career-high eight consecutive games from 2/22-3/8/19, averaging 17.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 32.8 minutes per game in that stretch. Powell’s previous high double-figure scoring streak was four on four occasions (he scored 10-plus points in four straight games once in 2015-16, once in 2016-17, once in 2017-18 and once in

2018-19). After going for 20 points vs. Denver on 2/22/19, Powell posted a then career-high 24 points (10-11 FGs, 2-2 3FGs, 2-2 FTs) at the L.A. Clippers on 2/25/19. The former Stanford standout then registered a team-high 20 points (6-7 FGs, 5-6 3FGs, 3-4 FTs) to go along with a team-high-tying six rebounds and a career-high (team-high) six assists at Brooklyn on 3/4/19. He led the Mavericks in points, rebounds and assists for the first time in 308 games with the franchise (including ties). He also knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers against the Nets. On 3/6/19 at Washington, Powell poured in a career-high 26 points (11-12 FGs, 1-1 3FGs, 3-6 FTs) to go along with 10 rebounds. He made his first 10 shots from the field against the Wizards and finished 11-of-12 (.917) from the floor on the night. His 91.7 percent shooting percentage against the Wizards was tied for the second-highest field goal percentage by a Maverick in a game (minimum 10 field goal attempts). Brandan Wright went a perfect 10-of-10 (1.000) from the floor at the L.A. Lakers on 4/4/14 and Rolando Blackman had an 11-of-12 (.917) night vs. Chicago on 11/24/82. On 3/12/19 vs. San Antonio, Powell totaled 20 points and a game-high-tying seven boards. On 3/26/19 vs. Sacramento, he totaled 21 points (6-7 FGs, 9-11 FTs), a season-high (game-high) 13 rebounds, three assists and a career-high (game-high) four blocks. On 4/3/19 vs. Minnesota, he totaled 25 points (8-9 FGs, 9-10 FTs), his second-highest career scoring game, to go along with eight boards in 31 minutes. DONČIĆ POSTS 32-8-8-2-1 IN WIN OVER DETROIT: Luka Dončić paced Dallas with a team-high 32 points (9-19 FGs, 3-9 3FGs, 11-13 FTs) to go along with eight rebounds, a team-high eight assists, a team-high-tying two steals and one block in 35 minutes in the Mavericks’ 106-101 win over Detroit on 1/25/19. Dončić (19 years, 331 days) became the first teenager in NBA history to go for 30-8-8-2-1 in a game. The former EuroLeague MVP also joined LeBron James and Kevin Durant as the only teenagers in league history to post at least 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in a game (James had two such games and Durant had one). In the game following his 32-point, eight-rebound, eight-assist performance against the Pistons (1/25/19), Dončić went for 35 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against Toronto (1/27/19), joining James as the sole teenagers in NBA history to produce multiple 30-8-8 games. DONČIĆ SCORES 25-PLUS POINTS IN FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES: Mavericks rookie guard/forward Luka Dončić registered 25-plus points in five consecutive games from 1/7-1/16/19 (27 vs. the L.A. Lakers 1/7/19, 30 vs. Phoenix 1/9/19, 29 at Minnesota 1/11/19, 26 vs. Golden State 1/13/19, 25 vs. San Antonio 1/16/19). He became the first rookie to score 25-plus points in five consecutive games since Stephen Curry in 2010 (5 games from 4/4-4/11/10). In fact, he joined Carmelo Anthony (5 games from 2/23-3/2/04) and Curry as the only rookies since 2003-04 to produce at least 25 points in five consecutive games. Before Dončić, Anthony was the last teenager to record five consecutive games of 25-plus points. The former EuroLeague MVP joined Jay Vincent (6 games from 2/6-2/20/82) as the only rookies in Mavericks history to post at least 25 points five games in a row. DONČIĆ DELIVERS THREE GO-AHEAD BASKETS IN FINAL 2 MINUTES OF DALLAS’ 119-115 WIN AT MINNESOTA: Mavericks rookie guard/forward Luka Dončić delivered yet another clutch performance in Dallas’ 119-115 win at Minnesota on 1/11/19. The former EuroLeague MVP had three go-ahead field goals in the final 1:28 against the Timberwolves, including a 28-foot 3-pointer with 23.9 seconds left to give the Mavericks the lead for good (it put Dallas up 117-115). Dončić became the first rookie with three go-ahead baskets in the final 2 minutes of regulation since Vince Carter on 4/1/99 vs. Indiana. The 6-7 Slovenian racked up a team-high 29 points (10-23 FGs, 2-9 3FGs, 7-10 FTs), including 11 in both the first and fourth quarters, to go along with eight rebounds, a career-high-tying (game-high) 12 assists, two steals and just one turnover in 35 minutes against the Timberwolves. Dončić (19 years, 317 days) became the first teenager in NBA history to post at least 25 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and two steals in a game. He also became the youngest player to record at least 25 points and 10 assists since LeBron James in 2004. James, who had 34 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists vs. Golden State on 4/3/04 (at 19 years, 95 days), is the only other teenager ever to go for at least 25-8-10 in a game (James finished with one steal in that contest). Dončić finished two rebounds shy of a triple-double against the Timberwolves. He would have tied Markelle Fultz’ record for the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double (Fultz had 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Milwaukee on 4/11/18, at 19 years and 317 days). Ten days later, Dončić joined Fultz as the only teenagers in league history to produce a triple-double when he went for 18 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists at Milwaukee on 1/21/19 (at 19 years, 327 days). LUKA AND LEBRON: In a five-game stretch from 12/18-12/26/18, then 19-year-old Luka Dončić posted three stat lines that only the great LeBron James achieved as a teenager. The former EuroLeague MVP tallied 23 points, six rebounds and a career-high (team-high) 12 assists at Denver on 12/18/18. Dončić not only joined James as the sole teenagers in NBA history to post at least 23 points, six assists and 12 assists in a game (James had two such games – one as a rookie in 2003-04 and one as a second-year player in 2004-05), but he also joined Jason Kidd as the only rookies in Mavericks history to go for at least 23-6-12. Kidd had one such game as a rookie in 1994-95 (at Sacramento on 1/24/95), and coincidently, went for exactly 23-6-12 in it. In the game following his 23-6-12 effort, Dončić produced a game-high-tying 32 points to go along with four rebounds (4 OR), five assists and a career-high (game-high) four steals at the L.A. Clippers on 12/20/18. The list of teenagers to record a 32-4-5-4 effort again included just Dončić and James. The day after Christmas (12/26/18), the 6-7 guard/forward went for a team-high 21 points to go along with nine rebounds and a game-high 10 assists in Dallas’ 122-119 win over New Orleans. Dončić not only joined James as the only teenagers in league history to record a 21-9-10 game, but he coincidently achieved the stat line 14 years to the day from James did it (James – 12/26/04; Dončić – 12/26/18) and against the same opponent in New Orleans. During the five-game stretch from 12/18-12/26/18, Dončić averaged 23.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7.6 assists per game. Once January rolled around, Dončić posted another game of at least 23 points, six rebounds and 12 assists as a teenager when he went for 29-8-12 at Minnesota on 1/11/19. He also recorded two additional 21-9-10 games as a 19-year-old when he went for 35-12-10 vs. Toronto (1/27/19) and 28-10-10 at the L.A. Clippers (2/25/19).

The previous most was 290 by Kevin Durant, who Dončić coincidently played his 15th career game against on 11/17/18 (Dončić scored a team-high 24 points to lead Dallas to a 112-109 win over Durant’s Warriors on 11/17/18). DONČIĆ GOES FOR 31-8-4 IN HIS SEVENTH CAREER GAME: In his seventh career game, Mavericks guard/forward Luka Dončić poured in a team-high 31 points, including 24 after halftime, to go along with eight rebounds and four assists in 40 minutes in an overtime loss to San Antonio on 10/29/18. Dončić became the first player to post a 30-8-4 stat line within his first seven career games since Michael Jordan in 1984-85 (Jordan went for 33-8-5 in his seventh career game at New York on 11/8/84). The 6-7 Slovenian (19 years, 243 days) also became just the sixth teenager in NBA history to go for at least 30-8-4, joining Cliff Robinson, Kevin Garnett, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Andrew Wiggins. James and Durant were the only players to achieve that stat line at a younger age than the former


EuroLeague MVP. What’s more, Dončić became the first teenager in league history to post a 30-8-4 line less than 17 games into his NBA career. James, who had 33 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists against Memphis on 11/29/03 (in his 17th career game), was the teenager who previously did it the fastest (in terms of games played). Dončić also became the youngest player in Mavericks history with a 30-point effort. The previous youngest was Jamal Mashburn (20 years, 348 days), who had a 36-point outing in his fourth career game at Minnesota on 11/12/93. Mashburn was also the only other Maverick to score 30 within his first seven career games. HARRIS AND BAREA BOTH DELIVER HISTORIC BENCH PERFORMANCES IN LIMITED MINUTES AT HOUSTON: Veteran guards Devin Harris and J.J. Barea both delivered historically efficient bench performances in the Mavericks’ 128-108 win at Houston on 11/28/18. Harris produced a season-high (team-high-tying) 20 points, including 15 in the fourth quarter, to go along with four assists and two blocks in just 15 minutes off the bench. Barea finished with 13 points and a season-high (team-high) 12 assists in just 18 minutes off the pine. Both performances were the first of their kind by reserves since the NBA began marking starters and subs on the box score in 1970-71. Harris became the first reserve in NBA history (since 1970-71) to total at least 20 points and four assists in 15-or-fewer minutes, while Barea became the first sub to record at least 10 points and 12 assists in 18 minutes or less. As a unit, Dallas’ bench outscored Houston’s bench, 61-25, on the night. MAVS BEAT JAZZ BY 50 ON SEATS FOR SOLDIERS NIGHT: The Mavericks beat the Jazz by 50 (118-68) at home on 11/14/18. It marked the third time in franchise history that Dallas won a game by 50-plus points (53, 123-70, vs. Philadelphia 11/13/14; 50, 128-78, at New York 1/24/10). What’s more, the Mavericks handed the Jazz its worst loss since moving to Utah in 1979 (while in New Orleans, the Jazz lost to Milwaukee by 56, 158-102, on 3/14/79). It was also the fewest points allowed by any team in a game in 2018-19. Dallas held Utah to just 22 points in the second half on 11/14/18 (the Mavericks outscored the Jazz 60-22 after intermission), marking the fewest points the Mavericks have allowed in any half in team history. The previous low was 23 by Sacramento, in the first half, on 1/14/12. In fact, prior to the game against the Jazz, the fewest points the Mavericks allowed in the second half of a game was 24 at Philadelphia on 2/17/12. Utah’s 68 points on the night were tied for the third-fewest points by a Dallas opponent in franchise history (it marked the fourth time the Mavericks held an opponent to exactly 68 points; the fewest points the Mavericks have ever given up was 60 vs. Sacramento 1/14/12 and the second-fewest was 65 at Minnesota 2/27/07). Dallas held Utah to just 30.9 percent (25-of-81) shooting, including 22.2 percent (8-of-36) shooting in the second half, in the 118-68 win on 11/14/18.
