Features and Options

Grille Mounted AccessSpecifically designed to reduce the installation cost of grille

mounted fire-smoke dampers, the Out of Partition (OP) andSide Panel (SP) designs provide direct damper actuator

service access by removing the grille or register. Thus, eliminating the costly fire-rated access panels required for

conventional grille mounted fire-smoke dampers. Mountingangles are also a thing of the past as a result of the innovated

flange system incorporated in these advanced designs.

Factory Mounted Smoke DetectorPOTTORFF’s Factory Mounted Duct Smoke Detectors are UL and NFPAapproved and feature fully integrated electrical wiring with a single-pointpower connection. By integrating these products at the factory, POTTORFFeliminates costly installation, wiring and interface coordination betweeninstalling contractors.

No-Flow In-DuctSmoke DetectorsFor years duct mounted smokedetectors have required a minimumvelocity in order to operate properly. However, that has now all changed. This revolutionary No-Flow systemis UL and NFPA approved for factorymounted in-duct applications withvelocities ranging from 0 to 3,000 fpm (0 to 15 m/s).

Single-Side Mounting AnglesPOTTORFF’s exclusive Single-Side Mounting Angle design represents a new era in fire-smoke damper installation systems.Breaking from traditional thinking this innovative design only requiresmounting angles on ONE side of the partition. The ingenious cornerdesign allows this system to install either underneath or on top of thedrywall offering additional installation options and cost savings. Testedand approved in accordance with UL Standard 555 this unique systemis in full compliance with all building codes for wood stud, metal studor masonry installations.

DRS-30, HS-10 & PI-50 The optional PI-50 provides positive indication of damper blade position in bothopen and closed conditions and is an essential feature of an engineered smokemanagement system. The HS-10 incorporates a push button manual reset that

allows for fast easy reset of fire-smoke dampers after non-fire heat activation.Ideal for engineered smoke management systems, the DRS-30 combines the

remote position indication capabilities of the PI-50 with a two-temperature heatresponse system.

RCP-1Available with either a toggle switch or a security key, this single

station control panel provides visual indication of the damper bladeposition. The RCP-1 also allows for remote positioning and

emergency override control of fire-smoke dampers.

Single High Temperature LinkIncorporating a single 350˚F(177˚C) fusible link toachieve the required smokemanagement control this system offers significant costsavings over conventionaltwo-temperature electric heat response systems by eliminating the need for costly override circuitry.

Low Amperage Direct Coupled Electric ActuatorIndependent certified testing by Intertek TestingServices (ETL) for continuouspower applications. Drawingless than 6 watts in the fullopen position these efficientactuators offer the highestdegree of reliability and life-safety. The direct coupleddesign improves control by eliminating the hysteresisassociated with conventionallinkage systems.

Airfoil Blade Smoke & Fire-Smoke Dampers

Airfoil BladesThe structurally

enhanced double skindesign of these units

feature one of the most efficient blade

profiles available. Byensuring smooth airflow

transitions across thedamper face, pressure

loss and noise are minimized.

Corridor Ceiling, Wall & Floor Fire-Smoke Dampers

InstallationWhether in a floor, wall or tunnel-type corridorceiling the flexibility of the FSD-170 reduces

installation costs byincorporating the most

diverse array of installation options

available in the industry today . . .

No Flow DetectorThis UL and NFPA approved, low profile,

0 to 3,000 FPM (0 to 15 m/s), in-ductsmoke detector is ideal for installation

at grille terminations where velocities areoften well below the 500 FPM (2.5 m/s)limit of traditional duct mounted smoke

detectors.

FSD-170 SeriesUL approval for installation in floors, walls, and tunnel-type corridor ceilingsmakes the FSD-170 the most versatilefire-smoke damper in the industry. Withrollformed triple-V grooved blades thisrugged design is specifically designedfor installation in engineered smokemanagement system with dynamic closure ratings of 4,000 FPM (20 m/s)and pressures up to 4 in.wg (1,000 Pa)where the maximum damper size doesnot exceed 24”x 24” (610 - 610 mm).

• FSD-171 – 11/2 hour wall & floor, 1 hour corridor ceiling Class-I leakage

• FSD-172 – 11/2 hour wall & floor, 1 hour corridor ceiling Class-II leakage

. . . When site conditionsinclude a non-rated suspended ceiling systembelow a tunnel-type corridor ceiling the FSD-170 can be turnedupside-down to allowdirect access to thedamper actuator throughthe tile ceiling without the added expense of afire-rated access panel.
