I would like to thank Kiat Lee –Song for the wonderful work he has done as acting Treasurer since our A.G.M. in November. It has been very much appreciated and without his help we could not have ran successfully, thank you Kiat. To our new treasurer Paul Flanagan, thank you for offering to be our treasurer. It is wonderful when somebody steps up to help.

We had market stalls at the hall where we sold Nut Loaves, Jams, and Knitted Baby Clothes, all made by Joyce. Duncan made some cutting boards and, Daphne had several plants to be sold. We had lucky number draws with all items donated by the members. Our Secretary Shirley Jones, came along to draw the lucky numbers. A big thank you to the members for their help and support

THE BIGGEST MORNING TEA. This year we had 6 Groups participate in this event

The Tennis Group held a "Morning Tea" and raised $529 which was a great start from a small number of people. This Group has been holding its event since it was started by the Cancer Council. Shirley's 500 Cards Group had a raffle and raised $100.20. The Wednesday and Friday Line Dancers raised an amazing $1150! Friday morning Table Tennis donated $50. The Computer Group put in $50 The Badminton Group added its $30. This gave a grand total of $1909.20 donated to the Cancer Council to aid further research, support services, prevention programs and advocacy. This was a wonderful effort by these 6 Groups from Life Activities Whitehorse. Next year it would be great if other LAC Groups would like to participate. You can register as a group or join in with the Tennis Group or the Line Dancers at www.biggestmorningtea.com.au THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

LAC YOGA 9.15 - 10.15 MONDAYS DURING SCHOOL TERMS Have you tried Yoga? It's probably quite different to what you imagine. We're a friendly bunch who explore movement, strengthening, joint mobility, balance, brain flexibility, concentration/focus, breathing in ways that support us throughout each day and a 'letting go' of it all at the end. There's always a few who get together after for a cuppa too. You'll notice I haven't even mentioned body flexibility. Actually that will improve too but you certainly don't need it at all to start yoga. It's light hearted and fun. I have been teaching yoga for many years now. I love supporting people to realise they're inner vitality. We often have a laugh at ourselves too. For further information contact Ursula Lindner Ph: 9802 4448 Swamiji

th July, the Friday Social dancing group held a Christmas in July function in the form of a

Pizza dinner dance. All those who attended had a very enjoyable night. Beryl thanked all the invited guests, Maree for starting the group and Charles for all his support. The help of Charles and the Tuesday learn to dance group has been invaluable with the loan of music, equipment and a float to get the ball rolling. Beryl also thanked Kiat for his efforts in sourcing the hall and programming the weekly dance. Other members to be thanked for their various efforts were Beryl, John & Karin and all the members who participate and help with the various chores.
