One time a mean king made a BIG golden statue of himself (point to statue). He made everyone bow down and pray to it (point to people bowing).

Whoever did NOT bow down would be thrown into a HOT FIRE!

(Point to 3 friends.) Daniel’s three friends knew they should only pray to GOD and

NOT to the statue.

That sounds scary! Let me see your scared face. (Everyone makes scared faces.)

But Daniel’s friends were not scared! They did NOT bow down and pray to the golden statue.

This made the king very MAD!

Can you make a mad face, like the king? (Everyone makes mad face.)

So the king threw Daniel’s three friends into the HOT FIRE! (Point to fire)

Daniel’s friends knew that God would keep them safe.

God sent an angel into the fire to keep Daniel’s friends SAFE!

The three friends came out of the fire with no burns at all!

Even if you are scared, God will keep you safe, too!

Say this after me:

When I’m Scared (make scared face), God Keeps (point up)

Me Safe (hug self)!
