Hello to all my Eagle family. I would like to take this op-portunity to thank all the vol-unteers that assisted with the Labor Day celebration to make it a great success. To all the members that joined us, thank you as well. Foot-ball season is finally here. What better place to watch the game than the Aerie? Fun, friends, drinks and Bronco snacks! Come on down and join us! Aurora will be celebrating our anniver-sary on Saturday, October 6th. There will be Aerie and Auxiliary meetings, many visitors from around the state and a delicious meal. This is the day that we also give out the money we worked so hard to raise to our charities. Be proud to be a member of Aurora #3224 and enjoy a beautiful day. As always, we are looking for volunteers to pick up or help with meals. Please con-tact one of the officers if you are interested. Remember that the goal for this year is to work together. Thanks, and enjoy your September. Jim Neubert
Auxiliary Secretary Summer is almost gone, and it seemed to fly by this year. Many events are scheduled for the coming months. Keep checking your newsletter. Remember you can always check the newsletter online. In July we initiated 3 new members and 1 transfer member from Florence, Co. Barbara Cameron transferred from Florence, Co.. auxil-iary. Welcome to our new members. Remember, if you lose your key card, you will have to pay $10 for a new one. You can leave your card in your purse or billfold and just put them up by the signal and it will open the door. That way you will less likely to lose it. “Til next month.. Why do we celebrate our Anniver-
sary? What’s the big deal?
Our Anniversary Celebration has meaning, honor,
good food and fun:
1) We give honor to our Charter Members and
Past Presidents of both the Aerie & the Auxiliary.
Without their dedication throughout the years we don’t
exist. This piece is done in our meetings according to
the Ritual. Yes, there is a ceremony dedicated to our
Anniversary, it is short but very meaningful. The Anni-
versary meeting is very different than a business
meeting or initiation. We open according to the Ritual,
take Roll Call, and move right into our Celebration of
Anniversary/ Birthday Party. We have honored
guests from all over the state that come to be a part of
this celebration. It’s a fun and light-hearted meeting
with deep meaning. We close with the Ritual. If
you’ve never been, please, make this your year.
2) Banquet now this is where we shine as a
Club. We serve a wonderful meal we take extra care
to decorate according to the current W.P. & M.P.
themes and colors, song, flowers…. This is a tradition
that dates back to our very humble beginnings. We
still have our honored guests from State as well as
Grand, with us. However, we add another layer of
honored guests; we invite representatives from the
various charities that we have raised money for
throughout the year. The highlight of the evening is
when we hand out our Charity checks. That’s what
makes it a Great Night to be an EAGLE!!!
3) Dance I think we all know how that works.
The planning started back in June, getting our team
lined up. Someone comes up with menu & decora-
tions, designs an invitation, gets them in the mail,
gathers donations for & makes the grab bags we sell,
hires a band, makes sure we have audio for the ban-
quet, applies for Grants, calls all the Charity Repre-
sentatives & invites them to the banquet, moves ta-
bles, place settings on the tables, the cooking, serv-
ing, the cleanup, the prayer before and after dinner,
corsages, boutonnieres, donates a dessert. Sure, we
could use a hand.
So, when October 6th, rolls around I truly hope that you
already have it marked on your calendar to attend, it’s
for you, us the Members of Aurora #3224. It’s our
DAY.
Hope to see you there, Sherry Rohan M.P.
Congratulations
Aurora Auxiliary for being the Colorado State Auxiliary of the Year for 2017-2018!!!
