Dark Age House #1 (28mm kits)
B28-DA-001
Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and remember
to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in place while
you allow glue to dry.
A full-colour copy of these instructions can be found on our website: www.blotz.co.uk
Remove the base, side walls and end walls from
the sprue.
Glue the end walls to the base (note the position of
the end window in relation to the doorway.
Glue the side walls in place.
Remove the framework from the sprue.
Glue the front frame into position so that it is
flush with the end walls. Ensure the holes around
the doorway line up.
Attach the rear framework, then the two side
frames
Glue the door handle into place on the door.
Place the bottom lug of the door into the hole in
the doorway. Put the door lintel on top of the door
(as shown)
Gently push the lintel so that it fits into the holes
in the door frame (this is a snug fit). If it is too
tight, slice off the back corner of the lintel on the
opposite end to the door lug’s hole.
Remove the roof pieces and end sections from the
sprue. Note the “top” of the roof is marked with a
“T”.
Glue the ends onto one of the roof pieces.
Then glue the other side of the roof into place.
Remove the roof frames from the sprue.
Glue these into position at the ends of the roof.
The smoke hole cover is formed from the pieces
shown.
Glue the two supports to one side of the cover.
The attach the other side of the cover.
If you are planning on painting your building – this
is the perfect time to do so.
Paint the framework black, followed by a heavy
drybrush of dark brown. Follow this by a lighter
drybrush of a milk chocolate colour and a very light
drybrush of a cream colour. Don’t be too delicate as
you’ll coiver the gaps between the frames in a
moment.
Repeat this for the smoke-hole cover / door
All the “panels” can be painted before they are
removed from the sprue.
Follow the same colour scheme as the frames, but
use much more of the cream colour.
Remove the panels for each wall in turn and glue
them into the appropriate spaces in the framework.
